Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2017 timeline and updates

Dec 21st Inland applicant - my wife got AIP yesterday on our first year wedding anniversary. Best news ever for us! I haven't gotten SA yet. I'm now checking the ECAS account for when it changes to "decision made" in the next few days. According to the spreadsheet, some got SA after AIP and...

    *********November/December 2017***INLAND*** SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

I'm wondering - since my wife the PA got the AIP letter via MyCIC account, does that mean I as the sponsor will get SA letter via my email or in my wife's MyCIC account? I know DM would be posted in the ECAS account and I have been checking on it which should be changing soon as it is still...

My wife got AIP today, right on our first year wedding anniversary! How awesome is that!! I haven't gotten SA, but according to spreadsheet, some SA came in after AIP and some never got it and went straight for DM. Nevertheless, we're nearing the end of the process! wheee! (timeline in my...

Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2017 timeline and updates

Got the GCMS notes couple of weeks ago and am pleased to read that all's good on our apps. I was worried about the medical part but my wife's condition has been deemed not sufficient to exempt application. Yay! Now looking forward to AIP/SA/DM!!

2018 Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications: timeline and updates

From what I read through the forums for a few months - some got only one AOR, and some got two AOR (one to sponsor, and one to applicant). I guess that's normal.

guess you got lucky. I called to the airport about it and they told me it is preferred to have it done at the border instead of at the airport.

2018 Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications: timeline and updates

Hi - sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I researched and in my opinion, flagpoling isn't frowned upon. We just went to the border and told the border officer that we were flagpoling to renew the OWP. The officer knew exactly what we were doing and guided us to the office to do so...

2018 Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications: timeline and updates

My wife and I flagpoled at the port of entry (border on land). We chose Thousand Islands due to less traffic and good chance of not repaying the OWP fee. (we're in Ontario). My wife's OWP successfully got renewed with the restrictions removed. Be sure to bring your passport, original OWP, and...

2018 Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications: timeline and updates

My wife found a job easily on OWP with restrictions, but that job is temporary as she hates it until she finds work (in the healthcare field as her preferred career) as she now has OWP without restrictions.

2018 Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications: timeline and updates

Sorry I hardly come into the forums lately as my wife and I are pretty much done with everything (timeline in the signature). Next for us is to wait for AIP/SA/DM and landing appt. I'm seeing some of y'all are getting DM earlier than 12 months like around 10-11 mths. I hope that's the case...

2018 Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications: timeline and updates

UPDATE: Flagpoled at the Thousand Islands border yesterday with my wife to lift the restrictions from the OWP. (See our timeline in my signature.) It was quick and easy. Officer took approximately 10-15 mins to process the new OWP. We didn’t pay the $255 fee. Whoo! I recommend to flagpole there...

Flagpole to lift restrictions change of condition of OWP open work permit

If y'all are reading this thread, here's what I found regarding flagpoling at one of the NFalls border crossings. They just recently set the restrictions as of last year 2017. (the article was posted in May 2018). See to link...

    Avoid Niagara for Flag Polling

My wife and I plan to flagpole next week at 1000 Islands border. Are you sure that one serves any day of the week? NFalls border only serves on Tues to Thurs.

    Landing Niagara (Rainbow bridge) FAIL

I’d rather flagpole in early am like at 7 am because the border will process the first 60 apps of the day then they’re done. I wanna be first in line. Will report how it went this week.

    Landing Niagara (Rainbow bridge) FAIL

Yes I have CDN passport and will bring it with me. My wife is Deaf and I am Hard of hearing. It’s easier if I accompany her to interpret for her. No we just need to lift restrictions from her OWP. The sooner it’s lifted, the sooner she gets work in the health care field. It’s not for PR.

Those that are flagpoling for COPR, do you have to have AIP letter in order to get COPR at the border?
