OCTOBER 2015 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Yeah, that is true if they only have the issue date to go by. Do you know if I get this done at the Drive Test office or at Service Ontario? I know you are in BC, but wondered if you knew.

OCTOBER 2015 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

That is kind of strange that the actual DL needs to be 2 years old. I renewed it a year ago I think and it's good for 5 years. At least my driving record will show my years of experience.

Hey Decoy24601! Thanks for the info. That sounds easy and great, just what I am looking for. LOL My current DL isn't 2 years old yet, but that is because I just renewed it. I have been driving since I was 20 and I am almost 52, does that count? hahaha I will at least have my driving record...

OCTOBER 2015 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Oh cool! Good to know. I haven't gotten an Ontario DL or ID yet. I sent off for my driving record from California. I am hoping I can just exchange my drivers license withour having to take the test. Thanks for the good info!!

I need to go to Service Canada to get a SIN#. I was told that I could work with that. I really am not completely sure if I can work without the PR card though.

OCTOBER 2015 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Hey October Family! I landed yesterday!! WOOHOO!!! I landed at the Rainbow Bridge crossing in Niagara Falls. It went really smooth and I am very happy. We went over to the US side and stayed there for about an hour. We walked around and checked out the American Falls. Not much to see over...

Does submitting a PR App (Outbound US) negate Visitor Status Extension request?

You can volunteer. I have been volunteering at a long term care home for over a year while being here in Canada.

I only meant it shouldn't be much longer for you to see the "in process" on the PA side. The length of time it takes to get DM is really different for everyone. It took 5 months and a few weeks for me to get mine. Hopefully yours won't take too long. It's just a waiting game!!

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Wait, your timeline says April 5 for your file transfer. Am I reading something wrong?

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

The Sponsor side doesn't always get updates. A lot of us still show "in process" on the Sponsor's side. Don't worry about that. It sounds like your PA part of the application hasn't started processing yet. I think it took around two weeks after my SA that I saw the "in process" on my PA side.

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Yeah, it won't show SA on the ecas.

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I am pretty sure the line that states they "started processing your application" is the AOR2. Some Visa Offices do not send out AOR2's. Your next line could be "additional documents request" or "medicals received".

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I didn't know Mississauga was a Visa Office. I thought that once they were done with their part then they transferred the file to a VO. Did your file stay in Mississauga?

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

I waited two months with no updates and then I received an email requesting a Statutory Declaration of Common Law form, then ecas updated to third line. A few weeks later it updated to "medicals received", which ended up being my fourth line and then soon after it updated to DM.

FEBRUARY 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Ottawa VO doesn't usually send out AOR2 from what I have read. I never received one. I waited two months with no updates on my ECAS after my file was transferred. By the time I saw the "medicals received", not long after I got DM. My third line was requesting documents. So for two months...
