Hey Guuys, I need to email Islamabad to confirm that they have my file. When I go on the CIC website, it gives me 2 options; one the generic email address and the other one where its the case specific portal. Which one do I choose ?

One more question, what does that File number do? I know its probably different than the AOR we received here, but what difference does that one make? Also, should I use the "Case specific" email portal or the generic one to email Islamabad?

Also, does it make a difference if I email from my work email address or personal? I'd rather use my personal, God forbid if something happens at work, I don't want them emailing my work email address.

Honestly.. I regret hiring a lawyer. Waste of money and time. I don't recommend ANYONE to do that unless the case is super duper complicated. I shouldn't have hired a lawyer. I'll just do it myself. They are no good!

Any way to find out where our file really is? Ottawa or Islamabad? My lawyer got a letter in the mail from CPC-M that file has been transferred to CIC-I. I emailed my MP, been a week no reply. Any help would be appreciated :). I just want to make sure my file actually IS transferred somewhere.

That is normal, ISB doesn't send AORs anymore. The email you are talking about is actually an AOR for sponsorship from Mississauga, which you husband already got :). If you want you can email Islamabad asking for your file number but I doubt they'll reply quick. People have bee waiting here...
