Did they asked you for any additional something? Other than that the only logical option will be depending in your country... or countries were you lived before how easy or not is to get the background check...

That's exactly what I believe... the same way that you call 20 times and you get 20 different agents with 20 different attitudes... All depends on who open your file... a fast one, somebody in a good mood, or somebody who just found his wife was cheating on him... There's no other explanation...

I sent fingerprints done in Canada (when I sent the app, my husband had been here more than 6 months, don't know if it helped or was irrelevant)

What they call "the interview" after PR... it is only a "formality" where you go and sign the final papers to get you PR card. Is like buying a car and after getting your plates and insurance... you go to the dealer to pick it up....

You're welcome... but you know what is scary? Is a regular letter sent by regular mail with the day and time for the interview. At the bottom it has the following note: IMPORTANT Failure to appear for this interview may be interpreted...
