    Hello! We won our appeal Aug 10 and it took 2 months before we heard anything. In about 2 months the will request new medical and criminal record from your current country. After this I'm told it's like another 6 months for final processing :(

    Were still in process. Hopefully this time it goes through OK. I found out they can deny you again! Not for the same thing as before but something new. I appreciate their due diligence, and understand denying someone for a criminal record. I just wish they told us ahead of time about the record...

    I cannot stress this enough, if the person you are sponsoring has a criminal record in Canada, no matter from your long ago, 10 years or more, they will be denied. Apply for a record suspension before you apply for the sponsorship!
