Just insane that they can take 2,000$ CAD from you, give you a "temp" number and then go silent for what is now over a year. And refuse to answer emails unless you're a refugee, according to their auto reply. Mad.

I have 0 points for CEC which is my point -- I am self employed. I can't ditch my company to get a job in Canada on the work visa. So I can't get the CEC point bonus. Without it, I'm about 430 points so not really enough.

You get points towards experience. But I believe you don't get the extra points for Canadian work experience. That's what I was told at least by an immigration consultant in Canada?

Being self employed in Canada doesn't count towards points for work experience in Canada, apparently.

Not yet. Just temporary. When they say the 'timer' starts when you get acknowledgement, is the temporary number that? I know it's not a real timer, of course.

Hi all. I see a lot of talk about 'local visa offices'. I applied by sending my application to Sydney in Canada. Does this mean that I'm processed by a Canada office I assume, and local offices mean nothing to me? I'm in the UK. Timeline is November 2020 applied. AOR (temp) in January 2021...
