The IMM 0008 form (Generic Application Form) has been updated as of June 2018. If you are currently putting your app together, be sure to log onto the IRCC website and download the latest version of the form. Always make sure you have the forms up to date before sending your application!

Can you give more specific dates? Were you out of status before or after receiving your AOR? I was on implied status (because I applied for a visa extension) and I still got my OWP 3 months after. My status was supposed to expire on October 1st and I got my AOR on October 10th.

You won't be able to link your OWP until a few days after your AOR, that's completely normal. I was able to link mine 6 days after. And ECAS won't metion your OWP either.

You need your OWP, a study permit or AIP (approval in principle) to subscribe, additionally to your CSQ. You cannot subscribe as a tourist or while having implied status. They have the requirements and all info on their website. I got my OWP and SIN on November and requested the subscription...
