If he is caught by CBSA he will be send back home on an exclusion order for over stay. That will bar him from returning to Canada for one year.if he need to return he will need to file an ARC. If he is send back home your daughter can file an outland sponsership application to bring him back...

I don't see anything wrong with the insurance or joint account, after all you both just got married, this is normally when people start adding each other on life insurance, bank account and things like that. At least do the joint bank account, that is easier and much quicker.
