Please help - travelling with expired pr card

Msafiri, you are right, however if governments really want to keep track of travellers, they can with just the airline data they have. Visitor visa is understandable, but in transit that too for few hours? Even with transit visa, if people want to disappear they can, does happen. Schipol wants...

I am visiting my aunt in Portland, so was thinking of driving out of US to Vancouver. I am short of 730 days requirement, hence the concern of whether to drive out of US or fly out (I will be using ESTA). Hope this makes things bit more clearer. Two questions about extra evidence documents for PR renewal

"I did 4 years out of the last five in Canada, the past year have been in Europe." Just wondering, are you not eligible to apply for citizenship? UK allows dual citizenship, so just apply Canadian citizenship and get rid of PR hassle. You may have already looked, however just to point out to...

    STAYING OUTSIDE AND TRAVELLING BACK

To continue your PR status you must live in Canada 730 days of the 5 years. You just left last year and returning this year. so from 2010 to 2012 you may have fulfilled 730, even if not, then shouldn't be an issue for you. No specific time period per visit.

That is what I was thinking, to get a return ticket and cash it on later. However, how will US immigration know that I have left US. Will their system tally airline data or do they manually feed in my exit into ESTA system upon my leaving US. The following is from ESTA faq. "If I fly into the...

Exceptions to the 730 days rule

That is true that we have 5 years to accumulate 730 days, however if someone only comes in for the last 730 days of the 5 years, then would you say that it is not advisable to leave the country even for business purpose or even if employed and your job requires to. Is the residency...

Does this mean, that genuine small businessman who need to travel overseas for business purpose will not have their days outside Canada counted towards 730 days. Will they not consider the amount of turnover, profit and taxes that will be paid? Let's say my business need is to travel certain...
