My brother-in-law received ITA in Feb 2019, he is living in Dubai, received COPR in Feb 2020 (expiry was Feb 2021 as his medical was just renewed), got married in Nov 2020 and updated IRCC immediately who revoked his COPR / visa (this is normal) and then requested his spouse's information which...

Seen 2 ghost updates on my pgwp application on sunday. Now I am confused as to what this actually means.

Global Case Management System - its the database the immigration officers use to enter your application information as well as their notes when they are reviewing your application.

Oh you have given me hope as well! My inlaws are from Syria and they've rebuilt two homes and a business after they were destroyed in the war. All of their extended family are there and they have no desire to leave permanently (we even ended up sponsoring another refugee family after asking if...

    Soft Landing

You're sitting on an aircraft with many others who will be staying in Canada for any length of time. This exposes many people to risks that are not necessary. Canada has now implemented a rule where soft landings are not allowed for this very reason.

    Requirement to settle upon landing...

Their intention is to land and stay - so that's not the issue. And I assume they are allowed to leave for vacation, holidays,...weddings, as long as they didn't plan to stay overseas and work. The problem is their fiance is in a country where they may not be allowed to visit. And the fiance...

    Requirement to settle upon landing...

I wonder how Canada could prevent someone from leaving? What if there is an urgent situation? (e.g. death in the family, planned wedding, etc)

    Requirement to settle upon landing...

Hi all, I see that those who have received COPR prior to Mar 18, 2020 are allowed to come to Canada to land but only if they plan to settle upon arrival. Is this a new requirement or has it been in place since the COVID restrictions on travelling to Canada were put in place? For reference...

I had a car accident in Canada and I was charged , could affect PR application?

You don't need to fight the ticket, but you can go to court and see a judge in an office and ask to have the fine reduced. It's not the same as fighting it and everyone wins.

Super Visa to My Parent in Syria and chance (possibility) of getting

Hi. We haven't applied for anything yet as the situation is complicated by my inlaws having an adult daughter living with them and so they would not want to leave her alone in Syria to come to Canada. Either we can find a way for her to come with them or not. This is so sad. She is over 30...

Can I sponsor my spouse after landing in canada through EE ?

Similar to this post....if someone who was granted a COPR while they were single, met someone and decided to marry (legitimately of course), there are 2 options: 1) marry before landing and add the spouse to the application - delaying the first person in getting their PR 2) land first in...

Landing in Canada with stopover and Quarantine

Finally found something - from a CBC news article - https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/mandatory-quarantine-hajdu-1.5509508 "A health official later clarified that only people with symptoms will be quarantined in the city of arrival and that travellers without symptoms can continue on and isolate...

    COPR and coronavirus

I posted another thread about landing via a stopover in Toronto....should I have posted it here? My brother in law has his COPR / Visa and I'm hoping he can do a soft landing here in Canada. He'll likely have to fly to Calgary via Toronto. Would he have to quarantine in Toronto or can he do it...

Landing in Canada with stopover and Quarantine

If this question is in the COPR and coronavirus thread, please let me know, but I wanted to create a thread specifically about landing in Canada and having a quarantine plan. My brother in law in planning to land this summer. He already has his visa and COPR (lucky). I assume his flights will...

Certificate of Departure with no deportation order....what next?

Do you know the basis for this? Every reference of IMM056 is given with reference to a removal / exclusion or deportation order which it appears they did not receive. Thank you for your response :)

Certificate of Departure with no deportation order....what next?

I have some friends who managed to obtain a visa to the US then tried to cross the border into Canada but didn't know about the Safe Country agreement and so they tried crossing at a regular border crossing. They were issued a IMM056 Certificate of Depature and none of the departure order boxes...
