As far as I am aware and this is because a friend is going through a similar process....as long as you send off your extension before the end of your current work visa... you will be on implied status pending the outcome of your PNP application and can continue to work under the same conditions...

I assume you are from the UK if you have a caution on your police record. The answer is no....you are not inadmissible. Canada only looks at people being inadmissible whom have been charged and convicted with a crime. But be honest and explain why you were cautioned.
