Since your application is already in process, I would suggest dealing with it after getting your citizenship certificate. Changing names in the middle of this will create a lot of mess and the name change process itself takes 1-2 months. You could have done this before applying for citizenship...

Yes, that is correct but you will still have to maintain that till the day of oath. Further, whenever you return to Canada as a PR, you will have to prove your PR eligibility also.

It is not only about the day you apply for citizenship. You will have to maintain your eligibility until you take the oath. If you have plans to return to Canada then it's fine else it may cause issues with your application.

Thanks for the reply. I am a March-2020 applicant and recently received the FP request. I am also just lingering on to go for the medical history as I am not seeing a trend in recent test/DM cases. Many of them are not asked for MSP data. I hope it won't be an exceptional one in my case.
