Yes you can. As long as you have an appointment, they don't care under which category is it. Atleast that was the case today at Calgary office.

I'm surprised. After mailing it shouldn't take more than 1-3 days since it is being mailed in the same province (mostly in the same city). We received our certificate very next day of mailing.

Yes, ours is Calgary office. Just want to add that we plan to travel very soon. so we added a travel ticket along with the oath sign off letter and requested them to send the Citizenship certificate soon. Seems they accepted our request at least this time :)

Wife got the citizenship certificate today (Jan 24), 6 calendar days after oath (Jan 18).

Hi All, 3 days after oath (on Jan 18), today (Jan 21) wife got confirmation of oath completion on the official status page.

Canada doesn't need your old passport. Issue if how will you manage if you need to travel before you get Canadian passport? As long as you can deal with it, you're fine.

Yes, you'll have to submit the thumb prints too. Its very easy process and you don't need to go any professional fingerprinting company for that. Just apply some ink on his thumb and get the print on a plain white paper in your home. Take a picture from your phone and you're good to go.

Rules were changed recently in Sep 2021. You don't need a new OCI anymore. You just need to update your son's particulars (passport, photo and thumb print) on OCI website. No fee has to be paid. You'll receive an acknowledgement immediately and within 2-3 weeks confirmation of documents'...
