That was a temporary relief during 2021-2022 due to the backlogs by Passport Canada. Since early 2023 the Surrender Certificate application requires copy Canadian passport mandatorily.

It's a mixed response to that from the forum. I went with the professional pic as Staples is nearby. BLS can be a pain in your back if they really want to. So better be cautious than to delay your processing.

It can take upto a week before you see any update on the Portal after you submit your signed oath form with the subject line mentioned by the clerk. The next status is Citizenship Oath set to Completed ( took me 6 days )

It depends on your IRCC ceremony's location. Took me 3 weeks from date of oath to receive the certificate from SK to ON.
