    The anatomy of a Background Check? - <<<<<<IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS>>>>>>>

There are many sites that offer help obtaining GCMS and other notes for a fee. You may be able to order it yourself if in Canada. Use the search button on the forum to see how others ordered the notes.

    The anatomy of a Background Check? - <<<<<<IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS>>>>>>>

You are likely in SS and GCMS notes at this point are useless. You can order CSIS or CBSA notes. For example, the CSIS notes will tell if you are in SS and whether they have completed your checks. Until they complete the checks, you don't see updates on your file because CIC hasn't received the...

GCMS shows 'Security Screening' and waiting... - let's gather here!

Maybe. What I am trying to say is that if someone is undergoing SS, the sub-activities don't always show SS because the information is hidden. In that case CSIS notes can confirm the status of SS.

GCMS shows 'Security Screening' and waiting... - let's gather here!

You don't see SS in recent GCMS notes (there may be some exceptions though), but can see Security with Sub-activities hidden under S.15(1) and/or S.16 clauses. Most likely it means SS as some have confirmed here by ordering CSIS/CBSA notes.

    Teaching Assistant "continuous" work experience

I don't know where you did your PhD, but in the U.S. TAs typically do receive salary during the summer. This is because their salary is paid monthly for 12 months although they may teach for only 9 months in a year. I also don't remember signing a new contract each academic year. In this sense I...

    Teaching Assistant "continuous" work experience

University professors work on a semester basis too, but they are still considered employed during the summer. Similarly, Teaching/Research Assistants are typically paid over the summer too even if they are not actually doing any work. I think it is still a continuous employment, but wait for...

Changing student visa to visitor (tourist) while waiting PR (possibility of PR rejection)

I am curious about how a change of your visa from student to tourist visa is going to help you avoid higher tuition fees in Canada. Do tourists pay a lower tuition? The question sounds so illogical, I can't wrap my head around it. I know nothing about Canadian student visa requirements for...

    The anatomy of a Background Check? - <<<<<<IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS>>>>>>>

@toppiri, thanks for your response. It looks like it is going to be a long journey for me. I am going to wait for another month or two before I order a new CSIS/CBSA notes. I read people here recommending ordering CBSA instead of CSIS notes. But what if CSIS hasn't completed the checks yet? Will...

    The anatomy of a Background Check? - <<<<<<IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS>>>>>>>

Dear @legalfalcon and others, I am in SS for over 5 months now and the CSIS note says it is still in process. My question is once CSIS is done with the checks, do they then send the report to CBSA? If yes, how long does CBSA normally take to complete the checks? I am just trying to figure out...

need help, unbelievable 2 years processing, still on back ground checking

Unless you have been in that person's shoes, you could have just stayed silent. You are not offering any solution here, but only suggesting that he or she just have to wait, but for how long? You are suggesting to wait indefinitely which doesn't make any sense at all.The person is frustrated and...

    understanding GCMS notes

    1) Look at the 2nd page under Assessments. There see if Eligibility, Security, Criminality, Medical, Info sharing, etc. passed. 2) Find Admissibilities section (it should be in the middle, mine is on pages 48-49) to see if Security check has started/dates. 3) Go to Activities section which...

    August AOR 2017

I left the group so did many others. I don't think you'll find it useful at this point because many August applicants have already received their PPRs. The group name has changed several times from August AOR to something else too. These what's up groups are useful for the first 1-3 months.

    Thank you >>>>>>>>> Legalfalcon <<<<<<<<<<<

Did you check yes for the mandatory question about government employment? I am in IP2 since November 2017 and have submitted government employment form. In my case it definitely delayed the processing time (just passed 6 months). But everyone has different experience.

Your AOR is in Feb'18. Isn't it too early to send emails?. I feel like emails like this early is going to overwhelm the agents.

    August AOR 2017

Hello SheFer92, I have just completed 180 days since AOR. Do we need start counting from the AOR date? Should I raise CSE now? What are we supposed to write in the message? My most recent GCMS notes (February) show no changes since last time I got GCMS notes (January). Only new information is...

Travel history in USA mess up due to the missing departure records

Why do you need entry/departure info from I-94 online form? You will not be asked to provide this record, right? If some of the information is missing from I-94 records, then this is not on you. All it tells is that the records are not in one place, so online I-94 form does not give you a...

    The anatomy of a Background Check? - <<<<<<IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS>>>>>>>

I have 4 Activities: 3 Activities only show my name and UCI number, sub-activity field is hidden. Only Activity 4 shows "security" under sub-activity. Similarly, @umar127 seems to have his sub-activities field hidden. Are there other people with similar experience? If this is the new trend, then...

    The anatomy of a Background Check? - <<<<<<IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS>>>>>>>

Thanks for the reply, legalfalcon. I read the link you provided. I am still unclear why they would not show SS or security sub-activity in my GCMS notes as they are not known to hide this piece of information in others' GCMS notes.
