They wont give u urgent option unless you are traveling within next day. So you will be given 50$ express option but don't worry they will let you have the passport before the travel date. Mostly by 22nd I guess.

Also dont worry you will be able to get passport same day.

For urgent passport dont wait for them to call you, Just visit the Passport office . They will let you apply walk in if you have proof of travel.

They quarantine it for 4 days before opening it.

RN Passport seva website should show ur submitted application with ARN No. - 22-200**** If your file is processing then it should show another File No- CATSC*********

Where did you check the status? In Gov of India website where u submitted the online filled form ? or BLS website? I am assuming you sent postal application.

No idea , they did try to accommodate me the same day but no slots were open. Also my travel date was March 2nd so they gave thursday 24th feb i think.

Morning 8.30 is when they open ( very critical) If someone doesn't show up ( appointment clients)the security is letting the walk in to go through. 11.40 went for pick up but the security out right rejected walk ins. ( Be nice and tell her the appointment call back never came- worked for me)

Correct , I went to the Scarborough yesterday. Huge lineup for pickup but all the counters for fresh application were empty. About time they let walk in.

I guess the time line still holds, travel in 2 days Travel within 25 days, Travel after 26 days. Still its better than postal .
