This isn't a uniquely Indian problem. China, Japan, South Korea, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Singapore are also some countries that don't allow dual nationality.

That's interesting. I did tell them that I have travel planned on Mar 15 (I have a work trip) during the oath ceremony. I don't know if I'll get a passport by then if I'm being honest. You'd think that they'd process all certs from a day together. AFAIK the certificates are already printed out...

My ceremony got done this morning and I emailed the signed form back. Now the wait for the certificate in the mail. Hopefully it comes quickly as I have travel plans at the start of April.
