I'd wait.....even after you apply for a BOWP, it will be a while before you get a response about that. No sense rushing to do it now. I say if you haven't heard anything by end of November, then apply

I was reading somewhere that if you're a temporary foreign worker, if you reside in Canada then travel is considered essential or non-discretionary (because you need to get back home) so you're exempt from travel restrictions. I need to find the link (Edit) Found it! From this website...

WARNING: This applies to inland applicants only since this is how I applied So you don't get your COPR electronically, that's a physical document. You will get an email with instructions (or a message through the MyCIC portal) to send in your passport (and possibly some other documentation -...

Wouldn't read too much into the status bar since that's really based on the date your application was received but hoping you hear something soon. Seems like PPRs are starting to trickle in slowly for March applicants so that's good. All the best!

Sorry for the late reply. Her letter didn't contain job duties, so she provided supplemental documentation. Although it's been said many times on here that they will reject an application with an insufficient letter with a LOE and additional documentation, some people were successful and she...

Just adding details for my girlfriend as her application was rejected earlier this month around Mar 5th/6th (October 2019 AOR - incorrect format for one of her work experience letters), her work permit was also expiring today but she managed to get provincial nomination extremely quickly (pretty...

Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry Inquiry

Asking on behalf of my girlfriend: Background: She applied for PR in October, her application was refused recently (pesky insufficient work experience letter for secondary NOC, the company only gave her your standard bank letter and wouldn't give anything else - didn't contain job duties. She...

Mine was about two weeks...In my signature, PPR was on Jan 13th (sent it my passport on the 15th) and COPR was on Jan 28th. You normally get the COPR when your passport is stamped and returned, then you do your landing after that.

That's textbook definition of a ghost update that everyone talks about.....nothing to worry about and is potentially a good sign that your application is moving along and potentially you could be getting your passport request soon. Just relax and wait....if you've heard no bad news yet then...

Don't know where you are but if you're in Canada, Costco, Walmart (although I've been burned there once or twice and they're pretty expensive)...the best option would be a commissionaires office. Technically the CO is a government office so they should give you the right pictures and they're...

This has been answered a ton of times but it's basically when you sign into your CIC account and your application status is "updated" but nothing's actually changed. Then you sign out and sign back and it's back to submitted.

Got PR without work experience reference letter?

As long as the duties on the reference letter match the NOC that you want to use, adding an LOE saying that the NOC on the reference letter is wrong...you should be fine.

    January 2019 - Citizenship Application

Correct....yeah, I didn't specify two days but I was trying to stress that they tell you to get your passport since it's the travel document that will provide evidence of your citizenship.

They take your PR card as part of the ceremony registration as you'll no longer be a permanent resident....and they advise that you get your passport ASAP as that is proof of your citizenship when returning to the Canada.

    January 2019 - Citizenship Application

Did my oath ceremony today in Halifax. That was an interesting experience. It was scheduled for 9AM. My family and I left home early to avoid the morning rush hour traffic (roughly 7:20AM). Ended up encountering no traffic and reached the immigration office at 7:40AM. We sat in the car...
