NOV/DEC 2020 Applicants Citizenship Status All Inprogress Connect Here

Same here. Are you from Calgary? The office is dead and doesn't seem moving with any tests, unfortunately. Oath seems to be a bit better, with a trickle here and there.

Average Outland Spousal Timelines.. less than 12 months, or more?

Thanks! And yes, I was referring to typical applications submitted with complete documentation and the principal applicant not having any unusual issues like visa denials, court cases, etc.

Average Outland Spousal Timelines.. less than 12 months, or more?

Hi all, I looked at the IRCC website and saw that the average outland spousal sponsorship processing time is around 12 months. In reality though, is this actually followed? Or is usually shorter or longer? Thanks!

    WAKE UP CALGARY OFFICE

Yup, check the 2021 tracker: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1iXCMs0mYtJZwYTTIH3LDmHK1tgK7yqAgQ5Jfyxv7BEI/edit#gid=1316748968 To be fair, there doesn't seem to be a lot in the tracker yet. But if you join FB groups like "Canadian Citizenship Test" and "Canadian Citizenship Application...

    WAKE UP CALGARY OFFICE

True. For additional context, 2021 applicants (both paper and online) from other offices are already getting oath invites. Some actually already have their citizenship. Makes sense since 2020 is long gone, and IRCC is probably trying to hit 2021 targets to save face.. Sometimes, life just...

    WAKE UP CALGARY OFFICE

I think this adds up. I'm following the trail of Calgarians who received test invites since I haven't received mine yet. Turns out a bunch of September 2020 applicants received their invites, but applicants from July - August were completely skipped. "Batch processing" would make sense in this...

    Spouse Sponsorship Online 2021

Is the online spousal sponsorship just for inland applicants? Or is it also for outland?

Clinical Anxiety / Depression For Urgent Spousal Sponsorship

Hi all, Just curious if a clinical anxiety / depression diagnosis (prescribed with medications) can be used to request urgent outland spousal sponsorship? The one with this health condition is the sponsor in Canada, not the primary applicant overseas. Thanks!

    WAKE UP CALGARY OFFICE

I saw a Calgary Jan 2021 Paper Applicant get a test invite earlier in an FB group I follow. Could be perceived two ways, IMO: 1. Calgary is actually still processing applications (Yay!) 2. Calgary basically gave up on 2019 & 2020 applicants and just decided to focus on 2021 to meet quotas :(

    WAKE UP CALGARY OFFICE

I think this is quite accurate. I could be wrong, but based on the weekly checks I've been doing on the 2020 tracker it seems like the office has had a hard stop on processing Citizenship applications since July. On the other hand, it's been raining tests and oaths out in the east. Heck, even...

    Calgary applications

I used to think that I was the only person in Calgary with anxiety about how slow my application was taking relative to other offices. I find solace in the fact that we're all in this together. Many thanks to people like @kevinstenner for leading the charge and bringing this issue to the IRCC's...

    Calgary applications

Great idea. Here's mine: 1. When did you apply - Nov 2020 2. When did you complete the test - Still Waiting For Test 3. Are you still waiting for Oath/DM. If yes, how long has it been after the test? - Still Waiting For Test While I've noticed that the office is unacceptably slow, I don't know...

    Calgary citizenship office applicants

Something really weird is happening in the Calgary office IMO. If you'll look at the Citizenship trackers and compare how Calgary is doing against other offices, the lag is unreasonably huge. I wonder what might be causing it?

    November 2020 - Citizenship Application

Doesn't seem to be any movement for at least a month now. Looks like we Calgarians who applied after July 2020 have been completely forgotten by the IRCC..

Foreign Passport Renewal While Waiting For Citizenship?

I recently renewed my foreign passport (non-Canadian) passport while waiting for my citizenship application to be processed. Do I need to inform the IRCC of this and give them details such as my new passport number? I inquired via IRCC's web form twice, and both times they gave non-sequitur...

    Calgary applications

Any Calgary July 2020 or later applicants out there who've already received their test invite? Or does Calgary remain to be one of the most backlogged (if not the most backlogged) offices in the country?

    November 2020 - Citizenship Application

I don't believe so. Calgary is waaaaay behind. A friend of mine from Jan 2020 just finished oath last month. Seems like we'll be lucky if we even hear back within the year.

    November 2020 - Citizenship Application

Haha that's a good way to look at it! Completely and utterly frustrating, but I guess if they are just being fair then it becomes easier to bear.

    November 2020 - Citizenship Application

Based on the tracker, I think you're from Taber, AB. If I'm right and you're also unlucky enough to get your file assigned to the Calgary office, then we're both in for a very, very long wait. Calgary seems to be primarily working on issuing tests for 2019 applicants right now, with barely any...

    Calgary applications

Congrats! Calgary is remarkably slow (probably slowest in the country), but it gives me hope to know that things are somewhat moving.
