That's true, it could be that the immigration website is giving 17 months as a worst case scenario. In reality, the processing time seems to be much faster (around 3 to 6 months for most cases) based on trends in the excel spreadsheet.

For OCI application for a minor, would the minor have to self-attest the copies of the foreign passport with a thumbprint? I realise this might sound like a stupid question, but they do require the thumbprint of the minor on the application form...
