Yeah no worries, at least they are looking at it now and have received it okay. I'm not travelling until last week of June, so if I don't get it by end of this month then will start escalating

Finally got a reply back via email to my automated status check request (sent last month) with the following reply: Your file is in examination. Does that mean the application has been picked up and being processed?

Which province did you submit it from?

Also not sure where you live in BC, but we never booked an appointment, just went strait to our service Canada office early in Vancouver and waited a couple of hours in the queue until we managed to see somebody. So up to you entirely how you want to play it.
