Us citizen here as a visitor living with my canadian wife w/o a healthcare plan

He seriously needs a job to have health coverage in Ontario? Sounds like America. Glad we chose Alberta. And despite what the news reports, we’ve both been to doctors several times and had great, timely care.

Us citizen here as a visitor living with my canadian wife w/o a healthcare plan

Seriously? I’m a dual citizen who never lived in Canada. My American husband and I moved to Alberta in March and he got a 6 month TRV document at the border and 3 days later applied for AHP. 5 days after that we both had health coverage retroactive to the date we entered Canada. Either something...

    March 2024 Inland Spousal Sponsorship

Don’t most people who applied for spousal PR online have a PR account? We applied on the PR portal which is separate from the tracker and Secure Account. Is that portal the same as the P2 one?

Yeah, I think that once we respond to P1 we likely won’t take any chances with travel until eCOPR but I will confirm with border. My understanding from reading forums and speaking with a border agent when we moved to Canada 7 months ago was that once we initiated the PR sponsorship process...

Thanks! I’ll do that and report back what I hear.

    March 2024 Inland Spousal Sponsorship

Has anyone traveled across the US border during this process? We haven’t left Canada since applying but we are getting antsy to drive to family during Christmas. If my husband is in between P1 and actually getting the eCOPR PDF, would a printout of the COPR details from the tracker suffice...

    February 2024 Inland Spousal Sponsorship

Anyone know why they can’t just use the photo that we all uploaded with the original application? I mean, are most people just reuploading that same photo upon P2?

    March 2024 Inland Spousal Sponsorship

Same. They must have fixed something because like many, it wasn’t updating at all. Now the tracker is fully updated and GCKey isn’t. They need to have one single portal for everything. Lots of IT cleanup to do.

    February 2024 Inland Spousal Sponsorship

Which province? Alberta enrolled my husband in the health plan just days after arriving retroactive to date of arrival with just the initial 6 month TRV document issued at the border. They extended it 2 years when the OWP was issued. Never needed the AIP or AOR letters.

Has anyone had any luck getting them to update the tracker? Ours is stuck, too, so we have to rely solely on IRCC Secure Account. When I emailed them, they just wrote back saying that I didn’t provide enough information to access the file even though I filled out all info.

    March 2024 Inland Spousal Sponsorship

We're past medical, biometrics, AIP, and SA, but the tracker hasn't been updated in 2 months. Anyone have any insights into this? Is it worth submitting a webform request to update it?

Sponsorship Approval and Approved in Principle. Glad we are getting movement on our apps!

SA and AIP today at the 3 month mark, and they referenced the medical exam submitted as part of the OWP. Fhew. Tracker is useless -- hasn't been updated in a very long time, but they are posting updates to the Secure Account.

95 days after submitting, received PA received AIP. Still no medical request, but we did one for OWP.

Just got the AIP after 95 days.

The Tracker has been pretty useless so far, so we just log into the IRCC Secure Account under the principal applicant's GCKey. As far as I know, the sponsor can't link anything to their Secure Account. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/account.html

    March 2024 Inland Spousal Sponsorship

Very similar timeline... March 31 - submitted April 20 - AOR received June 24 - biometrics requested June 25 - biometrics submitted and marked completed June 26 - pre-arrival letter No SA, AIP, medical request. We submitted medical exam for an OWP (which was processed and granted in 21...

I received that letter as well. From what I understand, not super relevant if you’re already in Canada living with a Canadian / PR spouse. We haven’t received SA or AIP yet. And the tracker hasn’t been updated in a month and a half despite getting biometrics request.
