You get the COPR with the entry VISA when you send your passport. Not before. It takes about 2 weeks to return your passport.

Just wait. Every application is unique, so while some could take 6 months. Others take 18 months. No one here can provide you with an exact time frame.

Don't rely on the trackers. They are not reliable or in real-time. With my wife's application, we didn't receive any updates after her medical until a decision was made and then all the updates in the tracker showed. Her background was completed just a week or two after her file was Transferred...

    Spouse sponsorship - Processing time

Quebec takes the longest as they have a set quota per year.

    Spousal sponsorship

In 1997 I originally got my PR in Canada. I reapplied for PR in 2005. The Canadian embassy contacted me and I renounced my PR status in 2006, so they could continue my new application for PR, as I never meet my residence obligations. I became a PR again about 3 months later.

They do a chest X-ray for tuberculosis and blood test looking for things like HIV. Don't be worried, as sponsored spouses can not get denied PR for medical grounds. Even if they have a serious illness like HIV. It takes Kingston about 2-3 weeks to review the medical results. From my own...

You will likely get medical request in a few days. My experience with Kingston was very fast. When I sponsored my wife, the estimated processing time was 23 months. Once our file reached Kingston, it was completed very fast. See my signature for my timeline.

Sometimes files are transferred to Etobicoke for secondary review when there are some concerns with the application. Did you order GCMS notes to see what's going on?

Nothing to be worried about. You can consider the biometrics letter as the AOR. You will likely receive the medical and actual AOR letter in the next few days to weeks

Don't stress. Nothing unusual with your relationship. I only knew my wife 6 months, and we had only spent about 4 weeks together before we go married.

    Received 2 AORs

Do nothing. One is for the sponsor, the other is for the PA. Its normal.

You applied in Jan 2022? If so, you applied 6 months before my wife, and she landed a year ago next month. Did something happen like the application was returned? 2 years is a long wait.

Sponsorship ineligible but PR process Continues

I'm certainly no expert, But if you are not approved as the sponsor, and you choose to continue, the application will probably be rejected, and then you can file an appeal and take your case to a hearing. But this will add 1+ years to the already 1+ year processing time and still no guarantee of...

I did all ours too. A lawyer or consultant is a waste of $$$ and is not needed unless the application is complex. Did you have a proper wedding and not just a registry wedding? I think it's very important you have a proper ceremony. By this, I mean more than just witnesses in attendance. We had...

Depends on if the immigration officer has concerns. I was expecting the worst and to my surprise the application was competed just two months after I received AOR. When I applied, the estimated time for processing was 23 months. My wife's was finished exactly 6 months to the day of me submitting...
