Is there anyone here who is eligible for OCI, but not applying for it & instead planning to use visa? I am assuming that only those who will be traveling very less to India will opt for visa instead of OCI. Any other reason for anyone? In terms of cost comparison I think OCI cost is approx 3...

It's the way they have implemented. Its happening for me as well, even when I am using chrome on laptop. It will start showing status as Under Process in couple of days, if not tonight.

I think BLS will not be involved in e-Visa, as application is directly submitted. So they may not have this information yet.

I had booked couple of appointments under passport category on 30-Nov. Now it is not letting me book appointment under OCI category with same mobile number. Not sure if I cancel earlier appointment will it still let me book under OCI category. Anyone else faced it? Is there any workaround?

No, it's not accepting. Others reported they saw that walk-in individuals without appointment were returned back.

They open appointment slots, however I am still not sure when they open it. Someone was able to book at around 5 PM earlier.

We had applied for passport at Service Canada office on 24-Nov. Mail out date given to us is 22-Dec. We had not given any travel dates while applying, however now planning to visit US by road during winter holidays. Does anyone know how we can speed up the process now, to get passports earlier?

Appointments are currently available for BLS Brampton Under Passport & Visa category. They have introduced a new process of sending OTP on mobile number & it seems only 2 appointments are possible for each mobile number.

For Brampton office, I am getting this message after selecting date - "Slot not available for requested date".

I submitted SC application at BLS Brampton without Canadian Passport. Just wrote a basic letter mentioning that I don't have Canadian Passport yet. SC is printed & hopefully I will receive it tomorrow.
