Will non-residency for tax purposes cause problems with an application?

Hello, If you are a Canadian citizen, declaring non-residency should not affect your application. Just make sure you provide enough evidence of your intent to return to Canada. You should also show how you will support your wife in Canada. I am Canadian citizen, currently living in Europe with...

NEED ADVICE: When to submit CPC-Ottawa OUTLAND App

...We have indicated in our application that we want to move back in September, 2016 -- about 15 months from now. We proved this "intent to return" partially by showing how our visas are expiring and that we intend to move to Canada permanently. This is honestly when we PLAN to return and it is...

    WARSAW TIMELINE-Join here !!

I got my GCMS notes today, which I ordered on March 25th. I sent them an e-mail in the morning, asking where my file was, why I hadn't received it yet, etc. There was absolutely nothing started in my file as of that date. Yet, a month later, we got PPR. I might order them again soon, just to...

    Spouse/Family Sponsorship Options

No, your parents cannot sponsor your husband. EI maternity pay does not disqualify you from sponsoring. As a Canadian citizen, you can be outside of Canada when you sponsor your spouse. You will need to provide proof of intent to return to Canada.

Application supposed to be sent to London but now going to Ottawa???

But isn't proof of return part of the sponsorship application? Doesnt make sense that they would ask for that later on when they are processing the applicant. Not questioning what you are saying, just wondering how cic are thinking there :)

Application supposed to be sent to London but now going to Ottawa???

Just so you know, requests for proof of intent to return to Canada are generally sent further into the process than sponsor approval, from the VO processing the applicant. I don't think I've ever seen such a request before SA.

    September 2014 OUTLAND Applications

Congrats! Glad its almost over. Did they request prepaid return envelope too? They are notoriously cheap in Warsaw...everything has to be prepaid in advance...ugh. I'm assisting family with TRV's and they want the same thing to give the approved Visa's.

    September 2014 OUTLAND Applications

We got PPR today. :D Exactly two weeks after they requested copies of each passport page and proof of my intent to return to Canada. We'll submit it on Monday, and then buy the plane tickets when we get the passport back. After 4 visa refusals, I'm not buying tickets until I see the visa.

    Argentina 2014 - anyone?

Interview request today - to be held May 7th! In Buenos Aires Canadian embassy thankfully. Also a request for proof of cohabitation (We are married, not sure why that is needed) and of Sponsor's (me) intent to return to Canada - guess what I wrote in the Sponsorship application wasn't enough...

Intention to live in Canada & Old Rule

Excellent explanation dpenabill. But this triggers couple of questions in my mind: 1. Its difficult to have a bullet proof application. And considering that CJ denies the application based on the fact that "applicant has failed to prove precisely when the applicant was in Canada, and therefore...

Intention to live in Canada & Old Rule

While variations of this query have been asked often, in multiple topics, and wildly variable answers given in response, it is undoubtedly a question which will arise again and again. Some aspects of the answer will not be addressed for years, since an intent clause inherently invokes...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Hello again. I was wondering if anyone else has had a request for the Statutory Declaration of Common-Law IMM5409 form or could provide some guidance. The form states at the top to read the instructions before filling it out but the only 'instructions' i can find are just a general explanation...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Spreadsheet updated. Ottawa seems to be picking up speed again which is good news. Send what they asked for if it is applicable. If the applicant was not 18+ when they were in USA then do not waste time on an FBI clearance. However include a letter indicating why it was not included. Doing this...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

If the actual wording states: FBI Clearance from the US if [he/she] lived there for more than 6 months since turning 18 I would think the FBI clearance would not apply and you would not need to explain why as CIC has given you an out. Only send if applicable... That would be my take, but...
