In my opinion applying online is faster nowadays than going for paper based at vfs,i had applied online on may13th and got approval on june7th.

No need to worry, it is common for everyone and you wont recieve email updates when there is an update,you will most probably recieve email notification only when the passport req letter or rejection letter comes.

if you have got the passport request letter on your cic account then just submit your passport at the nearest vfs,you will get it back after 7days with visa stamped.Congrats.:D
