Thanks, I've tried RBC but the application form needs a canadian address and previous canadian address and then also asks for employment details? We dont have a canadian address or employment sorted yet in canada?

I want to open a canadian bank account from New Zealand to transfer funds before arriving in Canada. HSBC will only allow a premier bank account, does anyone know of which banks will allow you to open an account without being there in person? Thanks!

I have the same issue, have never worked in Canada as I moved to Ireland when I was 11. I contacted my Visa Office and they said that as I am applying outland, I do not need to provide any income details. I just sent an email confirming my current contract and a savings statement. Hopefully...

No I think it applies to anyone from a visa exempt country. I found a list on the CIC website for visitor visas so I guess its the same? Congrats on getting your sponsorship approved already Kiwicanuck! I'm so excited now! :D

Just read that from 1st Dec you no longer need to send your passport when PR is granted! Thats great news for us as we're going back to Ireland in May so no worries about not having the passport back in time! Then we can just fly straight to Canada! Yay! ;D

I just received an email today to say my application was received 19th December, hoping the processing times get smaller as I have flights booked to leave New Zealand in May?! Anyone know what happens with the application if your country of residence changes before the visa is approved?
