Hi everyone, so my PP and language were marked completed. Now I have BG check and prohibition in progress and ceremony not started. I’m wondering if there might be an issue receiving my fingerprints. I know the RCMP did something wrong (new employee) because they called me
and asked me to come back two weeks after the first attempt and do them again due to a mistake from their end.

how long does it usually take for that to update? I called IRCC last week and they said they haven’t received them so how do I know if the RCMP did actually send it and there wasn’t any issues?
So I called IRCC and they said they haven’t received anything even though I have a proof of my fingerprint being sent electronically. I call the RCMP to confirm and they said they can’t find anything as if I didn’t do them in the first place!!!
I’m so confused!

I went to my local RCMP twice already and they keep making the same mistake because for some reason no one knows how to use the system. Now with two months wait for nothing and the deadline to submit them has passed. I might have to re-do them a third time if I can find another RCMP that will do it for me even if it wasn’t my local one. This is so frustrating

BG and Test have nothing to do with LPP. It could take 1 day to 3+ years; these are two different things. Yes, Prohibition is correlated with BG, but the other two are not.
Thank you for your reply. I agree that the two matters are not connected. However, checking the physical presence details is usually straightforward once since the necessary entry and exit data is accessible . As for the language requirement, they typically just need to verify the language certificate.

In most cases, delays are due to background and security checks, which can take a long time since other parties may be involved. It seems that files are often just waiting for those checks to be completed. Sometimes it's not easy to understand why physical presence or language proof will take longer to be completed

Isn't there an accredited finger printing agency around you?
Also just to be on the safer side submit all the proofs of you getting the fingerprints done earlier, through a webform. You should be having a proof of payment for getting FPs done which should have your name and date.

They have to attest to the best of their knowledge that all the information on the application is true. If it was all true, including that you were already a citizen, then I don't know how a one week delta would be a problem.

Application submitted: Oct 24 2024
Application Received: Nov 5 2024
Background verification completed: Jan 6
Citizenship test in-progress: Jan 9
Citizenship test scheduled: Jan 16
Citizenship test completed: Jan 16
LPP completed: Feb 25
Citizenship oath: Apr 8 (scheduled for Apr 22, email not received yet)

I would not be able to fly with my wife and daughter to visit my grandma on Apr 19 though. I've kindly asked the oath office for an earlier date but this seem to be the best they have. I'll prob have to join them after completing the oath and then apply the passport abroad.

Did you raise a webform to explain you need to travel , and then they expedited your case?

No but I emailed the oath ceremony team after LLP completed. The reply was rather official. They did advise me to take the ceremony after the trip but I would prefer to do the reverse. (I am visiting my grandma for her medical procedure which may result in a long stay in the worst case.)

I think this is because the application was not under their control yet, and later when they did help me to schedule it on Apr 22, which might be the earliest slot they can find for me.

Sorry what do you mean by emailing the "Oath Ceremony Team". Do they have any contact that you can share, as my LPP completion is almost reaching a month and I need to travel due to medical emergency reasons with family
