Hello, I used to be an international student, I claimed refugee and received a work permit, my question is how can I update the old SIN? When I try, in the plattform there is not an option for refugee claimants, only for other kinds of migratory status, I am not a temporary resident so, I am not sure, it is supposed that I should use my Aknowledgement of Claim, but I do not see that option either in that web page of Canadian government for SIN, so what am I doing wrong? Thanks.

if you are under any kind of permit (work, study, visitor) then you are still a temporary resident. permanent residents do not need permits to work/study/extend stay in canada.

if you change status from one permit to another, the same sin number is given to you, you just need to extend the validity according to the expiration of latest permit. suggest to go to service canada to have your sin validity updated.
