Test Invite: Mar 10 2022 (it was updated in portal but still waiting for email).

Also guys, I see a lot of you all talking about finger print request. Where does that fit into the process? do everyone get it? or is it random pick?

Hopefully this thing rolls with the same pace going fwd!

For point1, there was no option to upload the pp stamp pages when i submitted the online application. only the pp front page was possible. So i scanned and sent a pdf with the stamped pages in the email.

For point 2, I was in my home country and i didnt even have my pp created. My pp was created on June 20, 2017. I told exactly this and told that my first international travel was to land in Canada as PR on x date.

Not sure what else to provide tbh
Yeah, a proper explanation will work.

Its usually part of the background check... Not everyone gets this request, Its a random pick

I think it's more to do with the new immigration process that IRCC should file biometrics of all new applicants. If you hadn't filed FP during PR process then you will most probably get a FP request in Citizenship processing.

Great. Thanks for the quick reply. My background check is marked as completed, so I'm assuming my file is past that point now.

We provided FP during PR as well

I see.. I did not provide FP during the PR process.. my PR was back in 2015 when the whole thing was paper based. and yet, my background check is marked as completed without a FP request!!!

The poster you quoted is conflating two different things.

What you submitted during the PR process is called biometrics fingerprinting whereas what IRCC requests during citizenship application is the RCMP fingerprinting. The former is required for identity validation and is stored by the government of Canada for 10 years while the latter is required for criminal background check verification and valid for one time use only. That is why some selected applicants have to do RCMP fingerprinting multiple times because IRCC needs to confirm their criminal record hasn't changed since they last requested for their FP (usually applicants whose background check has been more than a year ago). The two have nothing to do with each other, so submitting fingerprinting request or not during PR has no bearing on whether you'll be asked for RCMP fingerprinting or not.

Hope that helps.

Sometimes when we share fingerprint for police check certificates needed for jobs, it gets in the system and are not asked again. IRCC can take the details from there. that's what I have read somewhere.

Hello,

It's nice to start seeing some movement for August applicants. End of March/beginning of April we are going to see lot of action.
Fingers crossed
