A few weeks before I contacted my MP, I had actually written to the minister of immig Sean Fraser - I got a reply today from his office - which has nothing substantial, but a very frustrating line - which, to be honest, borders on a lie:

"Citizenship applications are generally reviewed in the order they are received unless there are compelling circumstances to proceed otherwise. Moving an application ahead in the queue is unfair to other applicants in similar circumstances who have applied earlier."

This is literally what they are doing to applications! They are being unfair to all of us, (and those waiting from 2019, 2020), while processing newer applications. I didn't expect minister's office to so blatantly lie!

However, the reply is not totally generic, as they do refer to the fact that I have been scheduled to give my citizenship test (already passed). I hope this enquiry from the minister's office also propels my file forward.

Citizenship test invite, to be taken between March 21st and April 10th 2022.
Happy to see things finally moving, I was getting worried that it may get stalled again due to the (horrible) situation in Ukraine.
That being said i wouldn't mind a delay between the test and the oath if they need the manpower to get more Ukrainians over to Canada where they can be safe.

Citizenship test invite, to be taken between March 21st and April 10th 2022.
Happy to see things finally moving, I was getting worried that it may get stalled again due to the (horrible) situation in Ukraine.
That being said i wouldn't mind a delay between the test and the oath if they need the manpower to get more Ukrainians over to Canada where they can be safe.

I'm also from Ottawa and got the same update today - March 21 to April 10th! Yesterday/today must be a very productive day for them! Our MP had talked to IRCC earlier this week and I had asked her to ask for invite or for our file to be transferred to a different office, like all of the new citizenship applications to Ottawa are being sent elsewhere due to the backlog. Not sure if its coincidence, but we both got invites today and were in the exact same timeline/situation! Hurray!! Happy studying!

Oath was done March 2 - I asked clerk for urgent Citizenship certificate as I have travel booked at end of the month, she said she could not guarantee that. I sent email right after with oath form stating same.
Tracker changed to closed March 3, with update March 4th.
I hope that means they sent the certificate out, I will update once I get it. Thank you all for your consistency, I pray for speedy processing for your applications.

Hopefully you get it soon. The tracker is marked "closed" when they put it in the mail. So you should have it really soon! That's nice that, although they wouldn't guarantee it, that they appear to have urgently processed it!

How long does it take for all of you to get the background verification done? Just curious. I have finished the citizenship test in 2021, but my background verification is still in progress.

Your background check is probably completed but it's not updated yet. Send an email to the office in charge of your file for an update. After few days or the next day after replying to your email it will change to complete. I was in the same situation.

I just got my background verification completed today in the morning. Sent an email to the office before, they said it was in progress at that time.

Just an update. My citizenship test invite is from March 21 to April 10. I received my test invite from Ottawa email today. It surprised me as I wasn't expecting it until a few days before, not two weeks ahead! But it's nice not needing to wait until the last minute not knowing if they will remember to send it or not.

My citizenship test status was changed to Completed yesterday. Anyone plz guide me when the Language skills, Physical presence and Prohibitions will change to Completed.
