Citizenship Application In progress but Pr Card Expiring soon.

Hello everyone.

I have a concern, If someone can answer. I will really appreciate that.

So, my Citizenship application is in Progress, I am a Feb 2020 applicant.
I have passed my Citizenship Test almost 6 months ago & after that I haven't heard anything from IRCC. Waiting for Oath.
I tried calling IRCC & also tried web form lot of times, but didn't get a proper response, always the same reply, delay in applications due to Covid.

And now, my Pr Card expiring soon in July 2022.
So, my concern is, should I submit another application now for Renewing my Pr Card.
It's really getting very frustrating now.
I don't know, what to do?
Anyone in the same boat.

Renewing your PR is easy and cost $50 + mail. Go for it. You never know when they will call you for the oath.

Renew your PR card, you don't know when you would be called for Oath.

If your permanent resident card (PR card) is expired or will expire in less than 9 months, you can apply for a new card. The new card will have a new expiration date. Most new PR cards are valid for 5 years.

Yes. Send it now. The earlier the better. It takes 4 months to get it. At least it was 4 months when I applied a couple of months ago.

Like the others said, you should go ahead and apply. You could have done so already as early as October 2021.

My renewal was submitted on 18th October and I received the renewal card somewhere around the first week of January 2022.

I am not aware there is online PR renewal applications
