Hi everyone,

I have few questions if any of the old member can answer that.

1. My file is at ottawa vo after getting SA, once I get DM, will my file be transferred to New Delhi VO and they will issue PPR? or file remains at Ottawa VO only and they will issue PPR ?

2. As per earlier posts, NDVO is really slow so if file gets transferred after getting DM, will it take long time to get PPR ? ( Recent trend doesn't suggest this)

3. If PA gets PPR but she is in Canada at that time ( TRV holder), what should be the procedure ? ( reach out to IRCC via email ? send passport to Ottawa VO ? ) - Please explain in detail if possible.

TIA

I don't think anyone really knows for certain and doesn't much matter.

BUT: probably NDVO because I think they let ndvo issue the PPRs just to manage the volume (esp seasonality).

No-one knows. If you want to follow rumours about which is slow and fast, go for it.

The PPR will have instructions for this scenario (usually a 'virtual landing' now). If the PA is in Canada for a longer period, better would be to advise IRCC of change of address and they may send virtual landing instructions directly. (As far as I can tell)

(Don't do if only a short visit as IRCC will take weeks to get to this anyway)

No one wants to admit that they are OLD! LOL
joke aside, the answers (which doesn't really answer your questions):
1) It could remain or it could be forward on to VO. We do not know.
2) We don't know. Watch the trend as you have already done.
3) There will be instruction to proceed by then if she is in Canada. I think recent ones are getting eCOPR but no one knows if that's the same procedure in a few months. Update IRCC of her current address if she is in Canada for a while.

Thank you so much for reply both of you.

For third point, here's the scenario

We have received pre arrival. As per new spouse tracker portal, everything is completed and medical is in progress. My spouse gave medical today and it may take sometime to get it updated.

She has trv which got approved and stamped 1 week ago and she's traveling to Canada on 11 March.

I read that once we receive PPR, we do have 30 days to submit passport.

If she receives ppr before her travel date, can she still Travel on trv and reach here & we submit the passport within 30 days deadline ?

I'm asking this because it's taking almost 3 weeks to get passport stamped in India after sending it to ndvo. And she will have to cancel her flight which is costly atm.

Sorry for Amy questions..

She can still travel with TRV to Canada and proceed to the rest of the PPR/landing process within Canada.

Thank you so much.

1. Just to be double sure, even if she receives PPR, she can travel with TRV.. right?

2. In one of image, I read 2 conditions
  1. We need to submit passport within 30 days ( which is doable)
  2. We need to inform IRCC within 5 days from letter if she is Canada ( which won't be possible as she might not be in Canada at that time but will be here before 30 days limit)
    • Will this be issue?
    • is that rule correct or 30 days limit is fine?

Sorry for many questions..

Hi, is this something that you have done successfully, or is it based on what you have heard. I am in the same boat, received my mom's passport submission email but now she is booked to fly to Toronto at the end of Feb so I don't want to risk her not having her passport.

The approach and rules are not really meant for this situation. For the most part, they want applicants to do/complete the process where they are and not travel before it's done.

So my view is just that you're going to have to decide, and live with any issues. I don't think they'll purposefully cause you any troubles but delays in completing landing process (eg if you travel to canada first) might happen, and they might take a while to resolve.

Since you haven't received PPR yet, this is a bit hypothetical. Not much we can do to tell you how to proceed, as the PPR letter might take four weeks and no issue.

Overall I'd agree that if PPR letter comes a short period before the flight, get on it. If it comes four weeks before - tough call.

Good luck.

You can fly to Canada on the TRV if it is before the 30 days before you have to submit your passport. Once you arrive you have to send a webform indicating you are in Canada and would like to do an virtual landing in Canada. This will likely add a few months onto the process. Make sure to take out private health coverage since many will not qualify for provincial coverage.

Thank you. i am leaning towards her traveling to Canada too. Waited 1 year for this and it finally comes through 2 weeks before her flight. It's difficult to contact IRCC or the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi. Would have liked some "official" guidance on this situation.

Thank you so much for your help again. It will be less than 4 weeks now as she will board the flight on 11 March and medical isn't updated. so will raise webform once we get PPR.

Thank you so much for your help. and thanks for mentioning health coverage. My company covers my spouse but I need to ask Canada Life whether they will cover her without health card or not.

Normally the company coverage is only active is spouse has provincial health. You can sure double check to see if your company has setup something better than the norm.
