Police certificate from the home country while in Canada

Hello, my mom left her home country (Bangladesh) in Oct 2019 and has been living in Canada since then. She got her police certificate in Sep 2019 (the month before) while she was in Bangladesh. Now ICC is requesting her a police certificate from Bangladesh to process her Sponsorship application. Does she need to collect a new one or old one will serve the purpose? I understand that her PCC is 2.5 years old but she has never been in her home country since Oct 2019?
Please advise.

She needs to get a new one based on the information you've provided.

The police certificate has to be dated after the last time she was in Bangladesh for six months in a row or more.

Thank you for your quick response. Is this because she received it before she leave the country? BTW, she went to Bangladesh from Canada in Feb 2019 and received the PCC after six months of her stay in Sep 2019.
I have already sent it to the CIC? In the current circumstances, it will take about 1.5 months to collect the new one but the deadline is Feb11.
At this point, should I request CIC for an extension or just wait for their response? what could be the consequences?

It is because the police certificates are usually accepted for only three or six months. (Even if individual was not in the country, could have been charged or convicted of a crime from before).

Yes, send a webform saying it will take [estimated time]; if you can show some evidence you have ordered the PCC it will not hurt.

Yes, it's because she received it before leaving the country. The additional information you have provided confirms she needs a new PCC. The one she has now will not work.

Ask IRCC for an extension and obtain a new PCC.
