Visitor Visa through GC key

Hi Friends

I have applied for visitor visa through GC Key (Old portal) on 5 Dec 2021. Biometrics done on 10 Jan 2022.
Recently, I came to know that the visitor visa applications are processed faster through the new portal.
Has any one here applied through the old portal? Does any one know if IRCC is processing the visitor visa applications from old portal ? What is the expected timeline ?
Please help guys !

They are processing both. In current times, one needs luck more than anything else for their file to get picked up.

I too applied visitor visa on Dec 5th and biometrics completed on Jan 3rd but still no updates from IRCC. Please let me know if you get update on this?

I applied for my baby` visitor visa on Dec 20th (we parents are PR), no updates till now. Is applying again through the new portal makes sense ? If yes, does it link to previous application or we pay again for the same ?

Hi Ankit

Applying through new portal is like making a new application. You will have to go through the entire process again and pay the application fees again.
You will not get the refund of the previous application.
Hence, it is not advisable to make a new application again, but just wait and pray IRCC process the applications at the earliest.

I applied for my mother's visitor visa from India using the new portal. The timeline is as follows:

Date Applied: Jan 11, 2022
Biometrics: Jan 24, 2022

My husband applied for my parents visitor visa in Dec 05. 2021 and biometrics done 5th January 2022. Nothing after that.

My parents submited their visit visa from India Gujarat Ahmedabad on 5th Dec 2021, biometrics done 5th January 2022. Review of eligibility not started yet.
