Visitor Visa Passport Submission & Return time

Hello Brother,

just a quick question I got my approval too last week. They have sent me an email to submit yhe passport for visitors visa stamping. With the link in a email to find the location of VAC centers. But I’m not able to find the right information on VAC sites to send the passport. I live in Texas.

Can you please help me advising the instructions on how to send and return the passport being in Texas. Thanks

There are two VACs in US. One in New York and another one in Los Angeles.

I presume you want to mail your passports. I had been to the LA center for my biometrics. They insist on sending passport via courier only post decision. You have to email them in that shipping label email asking them to generate the labels for you. ONce generated, you can mail them - I think with all documents mentioned in the decision letter. However, I have never done this given my situation above. You can also call them in the phone number that they have for appointment to put to an agent

Our application is approved. It is just that we are unable to submit our passports within the next 30 days as my family member is already traveling to India on a personal emergency, and will return only after 30 days. I have submitted it as a request via helpdesk. Our concern is not to have any visa refusal on our record for any country (We do not have one currently).

Understood. Ask for an extension. It should be granted.

The applicant can ask for more time, but I do not think it is useful. Decisions take long these days. Better to push whatever plans he had until the passport is stamped and returned.

Just sharing FWIW. We reached out to the helpdesk, and after few weeks, they have extended our passport timeline to 60 days.

Hi - sorry I missed this. I registered here https://www.vfsglobal.ca/PostalAppointment/ which is separate from the biometrics site. Here you can order the prepaid label and generate reference number

the helpdesk said 1-8 days for them to receive passport from us & sending it to Canada. Then 1-8 days for visa to be stamped on PP. same for them to receive and deliver. Worst case = 4*8 = 30+ days -- But I have no idea if that's how it is going to play out.

Seems to be false information. Who takes 60 days just for stamping is it a Canada immigration or barber shop??

?? Hope you are joking.
There was an emergency travel to another country which means we cannot send the passport within that time. They understood and extended the time to submit passport from 30 days to 60 days. You have the freedom and liberty to ignore and move on.
