Hi guys, I have a big problem and I hope you can help me. I am currently outside Canada and few days ago I saw from the status tracker that I will be invited for the Citizenship test. My window is between December 08 and December 28. I was waiting till this morning but I did not receive any email with invitation to take the test. I don't know what to do now. I sent a webform but they will take time to see and take action while I need for them to resend the invitation as soon as possible. I checked my spam but was empty. What should I do? Do you have a phone number to contact them eventually?
You dont need to wait for their reply email. Just go ahead and attend the test as long as you have informed them about you are outside.
Many have attended the test without any problem in getting their results approved. So dont worry about their response as they are allowing for all as there is no eligibility criteria for it. So just focus on preparing for the test rather than worrying and getting distracted for the reply from them.

They will allow. THe test link is open to all for outside Canada.

Hi Raj - how will he inform when he has not got the email? The email asks to reply with changed subject line if the applicant is outside Canada. But this group has not got the email itself due to a system glitch

Then no need to inform. They can inform once the mail comes. Possibly the email was missed in junk folder.
But waiting is going to make the test missed. To me, there is no point in waiting as there is no rule for cancelling the test if attended without receiving email/informing them.

Its same as people inside attended the test without email invite. I dont see it any different when test is open to call irrelevant of where they are located. CIC is asking them to inform about their whereabouts when they receive test email, not asking candidates to seek permissions first.

I wouldnt wait for test email. I would attend the test. Maximum one can do is that alternatively to be safe, i would submit a webform saying he/she would attend the test from outside and go ahead and attend the test. This way it has been communicated to cic and no negative reaction.

Hi All,

I am asking this question on behalf of my husband.

He got an email- Test invitation to take the Exam between Dec 17 and Jan 6 2022. The email was received on 13 Dec.
As per the instruction by IRCC, if outside of Canada and you wish to take exam write an email within 24 to 48 hours from the date of the notice and IRCC will contact with next steps.

It's been over 3 days now and no reply was received by IRCC.

Did anyone had the same situation and knows what can be done?

Please advise!

I am in USA. Contacted IRCC on Jan 4 on the email address provided along with the test invitation. I did not receive any response.
I did sent follow-up email on Jan 11.
Jan 16 is the last day for me to complete the exam.
Should I just take test? I see many people are talking about Microsoft Teams, do I have to anything special here?
please guide me.

My husband was in the same situation and he kept writing IRCC the follow up emails to the email id provided with the invitation. Don't lose hope keep writing them emails over and over. Hopefully they will get back to you soon.
They got back to my husband on Jan 3 and his last date to take test was Jan 6th.
In worst case if they don't reply until Jan 14 go ahead and take test (MY OPINION). You don't need anything special to take test only (Good Internet and a Laptop with Webcam), have your PR card for ID (you can use DL too).

Here is the instructions we got before taking the test (when requested out side of Canada)
"When you sign in to the online test, you will need to go through a privacy notice. One of the questions will ask if you are physically present in Canada while taking the citizenship test. Though we acknowledge you may be located outside Canada, please check the box. This is necessary to complete the test until system changes can be implemented."

Hope this helps.
All the best!

There have been multiple people in same situation as you are and all of them took exam without getting a confirmation email from CIC. You can simply search May, April and few other forums and you will find many folks.
So do not stress, just go ahead and give the exam. No Need to wait for their response, you have already informed them and that should be good enough.

Thank you. Hope the reply come soon. Another thing is, I cannot even call them. The call center does not take calls from outside Canada.
