US healthcare is messed up. You have all the world class facilities and state of the art technologies but most of us cannot afford it. The vacation hours are pathetic. Nothing is free in the US. Education, healthcare daycare is expensive no matter where you live in the US.
Only good thing in the US is the amount of money you can earn. You can earn infinite amount of money. I would say just maintain the ties with your country so that if you need any healthcare emergency you can just book a flight and go there for the treatment and get back to US.

Yeah maybe USA is better in mid-term but not staying there forever? I don't know, I will cross the bridge when I get there, dv lottery is luck based so I don't really count with that. If I had a chance I would probably pick Australia to settle forever- but I don't have a chance:/ Good weather, clean country, plenty of paid vacation days, decent healthcare, maternity leave, laidback lifestyle.

This. Aus has a slightly better job market, and significantly more racism towards foreigners. Even the Aussies in Canada that I've met were visibly more racist against foreigners while themselves being foreigners there.

Honestly I would miss the amount of paid vacation days if I moved to North America. I am not even 30 yet and have more than 20 vacation days plus public holidays. When I will be 40 with two kids I will have 34 paid vacation days plus public holidays. I don't think that I can have that many in either the US or Canada.

For engineering, I would agree for sure. Trudeau is constantly targeting any type of resource extraction industry (esp Alberta) which is basically Australia's main export sector and strategy right now.

I've heard that those in the Atlantic provinces are genuinely nice and neighborly. I havent been there personally but I believe that. People away from cities are more genuine. And Saskatchewan too.

Your question about public holidays totally depends on how good of a company you are able to work for and the position you get. Although I don't think holidays can compare to Europe. I know some people with 30-35 days for sure.

If you are highly skilled and niche like say e.g. SAP Ariba Technical consultant, you have massive leverage in negotiating your contract and vacation. If you are a generic marketing professional, then you have less leverage.

Give me one reason why IRCC should allocate more resources for outland apps than they do now especially when they'll now have access to a huge pool of inland candidates. This is as naive as looking at daily vaccination rates and hoping FSW would return when the needle hits 75%.

Ircc is accountable to applicants who paid in full and have everything approved.. if the don't want to look at outlanders who are waiting for years together and have been approved they need to provide a full refund.. if they can't refund they need to process it.. they are accountable !

I am not sure about your country of birth try gc lottery (I am not sure about how it works) but that helps.
Now my opinion about US if you know what you are doing doesn't matter whether you are a janitor or a CEO ,even if you are broke as a joke ,in us you still have a fair chance of becoming successful .

It was safe, stable and offered superior quality of life for families when compared to the US. The only other alternative was Australia. The Indians and Chinese who move directly from their countries still think this is the case. Houses were still affordable back then and if you worked hard enough, you would enjoy a good life. The immigration system was reasonable and not the garbage it is now. The current government, instead of turning immigration into something that would benefit the country, has turned it into a giant Ponzi scheme. As a result, in the past few years, you have the bottom of the barrel H1Bs trying to flood Canada. The ones who work for the H1B sweatshops in the US and barely know any English, are now trying to get into Canada. Their ambition is now to work a few years in the US to save some money and then flood the Canadian property market with their savings. I'm personally hoping that FSW gets halted for 3 years. The entire Ponzi scheme will stop. Looking at the current state of things, if this continues, you will see Vancouver and Toronto turning into dung-holes like Seattle and San Fransico. The current government's goal is to destroy the quality of life in Canadian cities and then turn them into US cities.

Sorry to tell you this IRcc don't give a fuck about application, this fsw is one of the biggest scheme I have seen after H1b .Just adjust to the fact and move on with your life after putting a stop loss otherwise you are destroying your mental health.

Many people on h1bs move to Canada not because they are the bottom of the barrel or can't speak decent English. It's because Canada currently provides faster immigration to Indians. And countries flooded with Indians aren't dung holes. Maybe you should reconsider Canada as many Indians are engineers that North American employers like to hire.

I've seen lots of PPR (mostly for study permits though) in Sundays from UAE. It's a working day there.
