Got a date for 29th of Dec.

@parminder2021, @gurpreets88, @Rockyoak
======
Kindly carry the below documents in hardcopy on the day of your appointment:
  • Print out of this email & appointment letter -----> Just to confirm, the email is itself the Biometric Appointment Letter, right ?
  • Valid Original Passport
  • Biometric Instruction Letter
  • Signed copy of the consent form
======

Thanks guys
I booked my appointment while I was in Dubai.. Couldn’t find slots in India but since I was travelling, I thought I’ll do it there. I booked my appointment the same way @parminder2021 did.. received an email with the appointment confirmation letter as an attachment. I did take a print out of that but that was asked only at the entry point of VFS.

when I went inside, they kept the BIL, confirmed my details with them using passport and asked me to submit my biometrics.

it shows updated in my profile on the same date (Dec 21).

Looking at the point where we are receiving BIL, what will be next step from CIC? Will they be assessing security or should we expect PPR as the next step? Just need to understand what will be next step so I’m prepared for it.

Anyone who submitted the application without Medical exam? Like how the IRCC website mentions not to take the Medicals at the time of submitting application if you are outside Canada, and rather submit a LOE.

I got my BIL and the biometrics are updated in my account. However no news on the medical... it still says "we will let you know when you need to take the medical exam".

Anyone in the same situation?
Same situation for me. However, I got it done this month myself and uploaded the information sheet through webform. No update after that, though.
Appointments for upfront medical are also running a month or so from now.

Hi @gurpreets88,

AOR to PPR process described here: https://help.gcmsnotes.com/code/aor-to-ppr

At a high level, looks like there are multiple steps involved like - Eligibility, Background Check (Security, Criminality, Info Sharing) etc.
I'm assuming they work on a few of these steps in parallel.

In the next step, looks like they try to complete the Eligibility step, i.e. reviewing things like :
  • Proof of funds (POF). Sometimes POF verification can take place again during Security Screening.
  • Reference letter
  • Work experience
  • Employment verification
  • If you answered yes to any Statutory (Stat) Questions
In the Eligibility step, I think they might ask for additional documents and all i guess.

The article also says "Usually, before the end of Review of eligibility stage, Medicals and Criminality are also passed."

Don't know how much this helped. Maybe @seadrag0n and others can pitch in.

The only step you should be concerned about is Eligibility. After receiving MEP/BIL, an agent will review the eligibility, and even if you don't meet the eligibility criteria or if there are any issues with the documents, the agent will not reject the application or request ADR, they will just add their comments and queue the application for a visa officer review who will verify eligibility again and ask for ADR, PFL, etc if needed. You will see "Review Required" for eligibility in GCMS notes if there is an issue. If there are no issues with eligibility, the visa officer will queue the application for the Security step and once that is complete, the VO will do a final check and send PPR. Other steps will happen on their own time and they don't factor in CRS calculation so they will be passed unless something big comes up in the background/security checks.

Yea, I'm just worried about my US Visa refusal that I mentioned in the application. Plus I submitted a web form within a month of receiving AOR informing that I unintentionally selected No for the second visa refusal question. Didn't receive any communication on that though but I'm hoping that'll not be an issue.

I'm hopeful everything else should be good but till the time things are not finalized, I can't say much. :)

You will hear something about that only when a visa officer looks at your application or if you order GCMS notes and an agent has completed reviewing eligibility and added their comments. Many people like me from 2020 are waiting for a visa officer to work on our applications, nothing happened since January 2021 when an agent reviewed the application.

I can’t imagine how much patience is needed considering all the delays! Hoping everyone gets through this and get their PR soon!

I’ll order my GCMS sometime in Jan end next year..

@seadrag0n
We have been seeing late 2019 and early-mid 2020 Outland AORs getting PPRs in the past few weeks. By any chance can we guesstimate when it would be your turn i.e Nov 2020 AOR ??

Those AOR's are for FSW applicants with Ottawa VO and they seem to be moving in a somewhat chronological order. Most PNP applications are processed at CIO and their timeline is all over the place. I have seen Oct/Dec 2020 and Jan 2021 PNP's get PPR in Nov/Dec this year when some March 2020 PNP's are still waiting with security not started so it's difficult to predict what CIO is planning to do. It was one of the worst VO's before covid anyway so can't expect much.

One small suggestion needed guys.

My Biometrics is scheduled for Jan 7th and there has been a change in family composition for which I am yet to raise a webform. So, should I wait for the Biometrics to be completed and then inform IRCC about my status or inform them right away irrespective of BIL?

I did the same, Biometrics done and waiting for Medical exam information. Not sure if I should do upfront medicals, how about your plan?
