Regarding tattoos

Hi i am a prospective student and i would like to know a few things regarding tattoos
1. Will there be any problem in my visa process if i have a tattoo?
2 is it okay to get my tattoo after visa approval?
3. If not then what are the steps that i should follow in case i decide to get a tattoo after my visa approval.

You can get as many tattoos as you want. Nothing to do with a visa.

IRCC do not care about tattoo. Only risk you have is getting infection or other transmittable disease from the procedure.
So seek for a place with good sterilization and sanitation procedures.

I know of someone that had to pay a little more for medical examinations due to having tattoos. I guess they just ask for additional exams. That's it, no need to worry.

One of the test they do in IME is to see lymph nodes using a flashlight. If you have tattoos, its slightly harder so more money. But thats the extent of it.

I thought they did it anyways? They drew blood and tested for diseases like HEP B&C and HIV. I remember, my IME had results for that.. thankfully all negative. And I have not a single tattoo or mark on me.

1. No, according to the Panel Physicians Handbook, person with Tattoos and those living in a Hep B/C endemic area require HEP blood tests. I.e. US is not an endemic area, so no tats, no HEP.

Good to learn that there are different set of medical test done in different area of the world. I think that make sense. But if OP already have a tattoo, he/she needs to go through with the may be extra blood tests.
