Hello, during the last five years I have lived in Canada full-time, while travelling often for work abroad. Do I need to provide a list of 26 addresses (*2 for each time I returned home!) for all my professional trips abroad, to match the absences on my physical presence calculator?
Residence is your abode, your personal headquarters, if you will.
Address related problems can be subjective depending on a number of parameters like:
1. Were your trips only a few weeks to a few months long or was it like a year or two?
2. Did you live in a different place (whether a house or a hotel or an airbnb) every time you returned to Canada?
3. Did your employer continue to pay you in Canada in CAD while you were abroad and were you paying the local, provincial and federal income taxes and property taxes (if applicable) or rent for you residence while abroad?
4. Did you continue to use your Canadian Drivers License etc while aboard or did you get a new identification?
Depending on the answers I think you should be able to tell yourself.
