Good day to you all,

Just a quick question regarding my situation - any help is greatly appreciated.

Im married to my wife (thai) and she has one son from a previous marriage. We are planning to move back to Canada.

Question: We fulfill the IMM 1283 financial evaluation requirement for income but as we will be moving back to Canada from Thailand, I will not have employment immediately. I can prove my employment and income for the past 7 years (while working in Thailand) but just wondering if moving back to Canada without proven employment will automatically negate our sponsorship request?

Anyone with experience in this situation, again, thank you kind people for you help.

Many kind regards,

No, it won't negate your sponsorship. Read the instructions - it'll ask for a plan for how you'll support your spouse (each other). Work, savings, spouse work, housing, etc. Pay attention also to the evidence to return to Canada part - they will look at that.

Note, don't think you need to do the IMM1283, but may be wrong- check the instructions.
