Hi All, Can anyone please send me a copy of his/her AIP on techyguy407@gmail.com? Of course, you can black out all personal info. The reason why I am asking is that I went to Service Ontario to ask if i can get ohip with AIP. She said she needs to look at the letter to say if I get OHIP with that or not. I don't yet have AIP but I want to sort this OHIP thing ahead of time so that there will be no delay in getting healthcare later on. There is a critical illness which needs treatment asap. please help. many thanks..

Will be curious to see what happens. Based on multiple reports on this forum this year H&Cs are put on hold while JRs are processed. Whether you choose to believe me is your personal choice.
It looks like you only recently applied for H&C. It could be many months until your parents know whether they get approved AIP or get refused so you need to make alternate plans if they need to access healthcare. How long have they been in Canada? Is this a new medical issue?

Hi - how does getting a copy of an AIP letter issued to another person help you get ahead of the need to have an authentic letter to present for OHIP coverage?
It helps because the lady there was confused if they can issue ohip on that letter. She said she will show that letter to manager and after reading that word by word they will let me know if ohip can be issued. They said they might have to get an approval from ohip review committee. It might take several weeks to months to get their approval at that time. If I show them what kind of letter would that be then at least they can confirm ahead of the time that they can accept that.
they are going out of way to help me because they know my situation. I already told them that I will be showing an example of letter (not of my case). They said okay to that.

Hi, thanks for valuable suggestion. Yes, i am doing all in my control to work with this situation. I know it can be many months but just in case(you never know) i want to get ohip thing sorted so i dont have to wait even a single day. They have been in canada from 5 months. This is not a new issue. We discovered the condition couple of years back.
It appears that you fell onto an inexperienced member of staff. Perhaps if you visit the office again, you will meet someone more seasoned who can give you a definite response.

For applicants for permanent residence
- Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) letter (IRCC used to be called Citizenship and Immigration Canada, or CIC). The letter must:
- be on IRCC letterhead, addressed to you as applicant
- state IRCC has confirmed you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence in Canada and you have not yet been denied.
I did point that out. They kept asking me for an example letter because she said they get people coming in with many types of letters. They need to confirm word by word.

so you want to get an AIP and put their contact details on the letter? ? i think that's not legal but of course you will find a solution to get a helathcare inssurance for them
No no no.. you got me wrong. Sorry I probably did not explain correctly. Let me try again.
My parent has a significant medical condition which is at last stage. We are somehow pulling thru with very controlled lifestyle. But, we dont know when he will need the treatment.
so of course we have to wait for AIPand i am waiting for it. But, to make sure that we can get OHIP with AIP, i just went to service ontario to inquire if AIP will be acceptable. They could not understand what that AIP letter will have written inside and if they can accept it (whenever we get it). So the lady asked if I have an example of what that letter looks like. Obviously, i don’t have any example. So, i am out here looking for an example which i can show her.
I went service ontario ahead of time because when/if i get AIP, we want to make sure we can absolutely get ohip instantly at that time.
