Don't they check the IP address from where did you submit the application ? I am almost ready to submit the application on behalf of my parents who are not present in Canada nor they are tech-savvy to upload files and fill out the online forms.

The Consent Declaration says the following:

"I declare that I, as the principal applicant, am electronically signing my application, not another person or representative."
I smiled reading this, I think CIC has so much backlog than to worry about IP address where an application was submitted :). If it makes you feel better, please make them sign the form for representative.

Hi everyone!

My file is in process for sponsoring my parents. CIC requires me to submit some info from my application in process that they reviewed:

Birth registration/certificate: The birth certificate provided does not list Sponsor's name . Please
provide proof of relationship to Principal Applicant and accompanying dependent spouse (if applicable). If your
documents are not in English or French, you must include a notarized and certified translation with a copy of the
original version.

In India, BC does not include the name of the person (at least not in 1986)... what can I do here? Has anybody had the same experience? Your suggestions would be much appreciated. thanks!
Please when did you submit your application?

Hi I need urgent help. My parents already submitted the application. but unfortunately there is some wrong information. My father was freedom fighter, he is very old and forgot to include that. Is there any way to correct that now?

Since it is submitted, you cant update anything until we have an application number generated which is after Acknowledgement of Receipt(AOR). Once they send the AOR, you can raise a webform to update the details. We are both in the waiting game for the AOR or request for additional info if the initial submission was incomplete :). I wont sweat it, it can be updated later.

I saw this comment in another thread, You need an affidavit plus some other documents listed.

'If the sponsor submits an affidavit instead of the birth certificate then the sponsor is asked for voter ID, Adhaar card, educational documents to provide a proof of the relationship with the parents.
This is for Indian applicants.'

Hi There

I have received the invitation to apply for my parents PR. Can someone please answer my questions below?

1. I do not have birth certificate ever, I always used my education certificate as the proof of relation. Can I use the same here as well? I am a Canadian citizen now and my Indian passport is cancelled as India doesn't support dual citizenship. I am unsure of what to use as proof of relation with my Parents. (Father. - principal applicant).

2. Cirriculam Vitae/Resume - Do I have to prepare resume's for for both (Mother and Father) and attach them?

3. If I give permission to CIC to collect the reports from CRA, do I still need to fill in IMM5748e.?

Few more questions will follow as I proceed with the application :) ... or please advise in general if I have to be aware of anything.

Thanks always to this group for supporting.

Just submitted the file for my in-laws. Does anyone know the timeline now? When should we expect the AOR to arrive. I am not too sold out to this submission online as I have seen many instances of uploaded documents vanishing.

Thanks. Also, do you know how perfect the photos have to be? My parents are finding it hard to get a photographer that’s know how to properly snap the photos.
Am really not sure how strict they are about the photograph specification but I gave mine the specification to work it.
