I called IRCC every day for the past months and they all said they can't provide any info because it wasn't "urgent request" like you said. And just like you, I can't even begin to count how many times I had begged and bargained so many times to no avail.

Yesterday however, the IRCC login was unavailable, so I used that as an excuse to coax them into giving me some info. And after calling IRCC for more than 100 times (that doesn't even count the countless re-dial I had to do just to get into queue), I was lucky enough to finally get an agent who was understanding and helpful. The chances are slim but yeah. I hope you get the same luck as me sometime soon! Keep calling and just be polite even if they won't give you any answers. Most of these agents are doing their jobs, so I don't encourage people to be a bit too... entitled. You're welcome to talk ill about IRCC and their incompetence on this forum, as long as you are not being mean to the individual agents. I'm certain you've been very civil with all agents during the call, but I'm just saying this in case others read my unnecessarily long comment (lot of people don't seem to like how verbose I am)...

As for my applications, yeah I have two ongoing PR applications right now. As you can see on my signature, I have one that is CEC in July and the other was TR to PR Pathway that was opened on May 6, 2021 (I did the International Graduates English Stream, which became notorious for reaching max capacity of applicants within just 24 hours of opening). This was possible because I had graduate post-secondary here in Canada in April 2020, and I was working. I was originally gonna just apply for CEC after 1 year of full-time, but seeing this new pathway, and upon realizing that I fit the bill perfectly for that, I just couldn't refuse!

Having multiple PR applications in parallel will not result in any penalties or unfairness so don't worry. It's just a matter of time as to which one will get approved first.

I hope that explains much! Good luck with your applications!
Awesome, thanks for the reply. I haven't got any update after oct 6, it was when the PCC was added to my file, directly from IRCC embassy, got MEP on sept 1, biometrics aug 4, hope to get good news soon.

Recent applicants' examples have suggested that the update on eligibility, background check, and all that are not updated UNTIL eCOPR is issued (aka, your application being approved, for good). eCOPR takes some time after the issuace of Portal Credentials Email, which you get after responding to Portal Email with the requested info. Some say it takes 2 days after credentials, but others have gotten theirs weeks after. The inconsistency varies from Visa office to Visa office.

In short, congratulations since your application is nearly at the finish line! But I suggest you stay vigilant and get that Name/UCI/Birthdate/Entry date reply and get the photo and address ready to upload soon!

You're so close! Make sure to give your all at the end. That champagne bottle can wait for now. Eyes on the target!

EDIT: When you say "PR Confirmation PDF," do you mean PR confirmation Portal Email or eCOPR? Because it can be confusing between these two terms. And those two terms are VERY different. Sorry since I don't know your current timeline...
Hi! Sorry, still a newbie here and trying to figure out the difference between those 2 terms... But I double-checked my email, mine is "Permanent Residence Portal (PR Confirmation)" and got PDF attached saying my "permanent residence application has been approved". I confirmed my credentials and uploaded my photo + mailing address. I think after that I should expect my eCoPR and then PR card...Still a way to go haha

Eligibility is going to be in reviewing step until the very end. It changes only after the decision is made so don't worry about that. If your background check is in progress, you're close! My BC changed status around Oct 20. and on Oct 30. I already received my eCoPR
Could you please confirm if your background changed from Processing to In Progress first and then back to Processing when you got the Approval?
What were the days between Processing to In Progress and In Progress to Processing again?

Yeah that's the idea. I believe you can check (or they let you know) if your address and photo are in review, accepted, or (hopefully not) refused.

What you got is definitely a Portal email (for Permanent Residence Confirmaton Portal). I was confused because sometimes the letter says "we are at the end of the process of your application for permanent residence" instead of straight out saying "application has been approved"so it can be a bit odd.

Glad you did all the procedures they requested. Hope the eCOPR comes to you soon (that's probably when your CIC account will put your application as "approved). Once you get that, then you're officially a permanent resident and all you have to do is wait for the PR card to come. Best of luck!

Thank you so much for always answering in details and clear! I really didn't know many of these things and how they are different. I just let it go and never lost my hope because I've been stressing too much about it. But anyways much appreciate it! Yeah, I also hope it comes soon and all people in this group will get their PRs soon! Thanks again and best of luck to you too!

I believe that you should download your copr on the portal once they approved your stay in Canada

Hi Everyone,
My CEC application info
July 12 submitted
July 12 received AOR
Aug 11 medicals passed
Aug 12 biometrics req and updated
Oct 1-10 some ghost update

No updates after that
Dropped the application from Vancouver

Is there anyone from the same timeframe like mine?
Bit tensed as so many others who applied after me actually got the PR cards too ( Happy for them)
Can you do me a small favour? Can you check what you Biometrics request looks like?
* Is it just an email "We updated your application status" and you go and check to find a document.
OR
* Is it an email specifically asking you to go and give your biometric with your BIL attached to it.

CEC Inland, Single Applicant
ITA: July 8
AOR: July 18
Medical Passed: August 18 (upfront)
Biometrics Updated: August 19 (took it back in 2017, have a validity of 10 years)
RCMP: 29 August (didn't ask for it - wanted to submit it upfront but received it after 8 weeks)
GU: probably 2 or 3 times, didn't keep track
Current Status:
Review of eligibility: We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements
Background check: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check
Final decision: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made

Questions:
1. Is there anyone in the same boat like mine?
2. Is "background check" the last stage? OR there are one/more stages to go? (Pardon my lack of knowledge here) Would really appreciate if someone could tell me if this is the last stage or few/many more steps to go?
3. Recently a lot of people got their PR in a very short span but was wondering, did the processing time (especially the inland CEC) use to take thaat long pre-covid era? like more than 5 or 6 months or more? Planning to go home in January (mother's last stage liver cirrhosis) but still quite confuse whether to make plan/buy the ticket (not confident enough to travel with the multiple-entry V1, wrong one, TRV)
