For those waiting for Oath ceremony invite - the invitations are random. I have a friend who got his invite exactly 5 and a half months after his decision was made. I got it after 3.5 months. We both have almost identical applications (we both applied from toronto)

It all depends on the officer who handles your file. Some officers are more diligent and fairer than others.

Regardless of how you feel about the monarchy... this is not good news for our applications. =/

No one really knows what might happen since the Queen has been the head of state almost as long as the concept of Canadian citizenship exists. Will oaths go on without a head of state? Will the law need to be amended in order to move forward?

Just got my invitation to the oath ceremony!!! I applied on October 25 2019, virtual ceremony on Nov 5, 2021 - 2 years later. Finally! Can’t wait to become Canadian

The website still shows in process, though, and hasn’t been updated since July

How long before the Oath ceremony (date) do you get an email with the instructions and details of the same?

In my case I got the invite today, 2 weeks before the ceremony

I still haven't gotten an email from them with the Oath instructions. I will wait till next week before reaching out to them.

That can happen a lot.

For my citizenship test, the date on my tracker appeared weeks before the window opened, but I only got instructions a couple of days beforehand. =/
I called IRCC and they said it was normal.

Everything is normal for them.

On a different matter, I just wanted to say thank everyone and this forum. While I am definitely still going crazy thinking about this, it helps having the support of others like you. I have given up on having an oath in 2021, but I will continue to push and try to help out in whatever efforts people come up with to get answers from IRCC.

You are not going to believe this....

I got an email today from Surrey office to request passport copies.... again (3rd time). They say it is not easy to read some stamps (from 10 years ago)...

Yeah, no sh!t.... you want a 30 page travel document scanned under 5mb... of course the resolution is not the highest in the world ....(*face palm)

They also want further information on some trips where i crossed into canada by land that do not appear in the system, and they want me to provide my travel records for Hong Kong....

I've never been to Hong Kong.... WTF.

If any one has advice on the matter, it would be much appreciated

Hi - Mine is a family application of three (with my wife and son).... App sent in (end of Oct) Nov 2019, AOR in Feb 2020...Test invite (only for me) in July 2021, Test completed in July 2021, Statuses (except oath) changed to complete on Oct 7 2021...but no update to DM or Oath...My wife didn't receive a test invite yet...is anyone in this group in a similar situation where only one applicant from a family received test invites and/or oath ceremony requests...wanted to know if i have to wait until rest of the family members complete the test etc., appreciate your input

I believe they should have sent test invite at same time as you. Me and wife, we both received test and oath invite at same time. We applied in October 2019.

It doesn’t happen to everyone. I did my test 3 months before my husband.

Hi fam, I just checked my application status on the new system and language skills, physical presence are now completed. The old ECAS system says Decision Made. I guess I am just waiting for the oath invite at this point... Do they send us an email for the oath or we will have to check the system on our own?

it could be an error from IRCC. I'd check with them.
