Medicals - 25th Aug
Application submitted - 28th Aug
Biometrics were uploaded for a previous application so didn't have to give biometrics.
Medicals not updated yet
REview still not started
Background check in process
Web form raised regarding medicals not being updated on 8th Oct.
Got a generic reply.

Scared of a refusal
Although I am getting a scholarship and everything for the Phd, but my husband is a Canadian PR currently in Canada. (Strong ties to Canada!) Have written a LOE but stillGod knows what will happen!

Why not use husband's PR status?
I was seeing this one video in youtube that said to not attach unnecessary files, this will slow your application!! I feel my consultant(Registered consultant in Canada) has put too many files. Here is the list of documents I have given him. Actually the checklist was 3 pages long. So he must have asked these so that when IRCC asks any additional documents we have them handy and give it to them immediately.

SOP - uploaded
LOA - uploaded
College change of address, college changed its location. - uploaded
CA certificate, showing mine and wife's net worth. - uploaded
Police clearance certificate - uploaded
Loan approval letter - uploaded
Marriage certificate - uploaded
Child birth certificate
Mine and wife's ITRs - uploaded
College fees paid acknowledgement - uploaded
GIC certificate - uploaded
All bank statements for both of us, including bank certificates - uploaded

If IRCC verifies every file, it will take ages, then I am truly F.....
I dont think they verify documents at all. Because there are people from India who got visa in 1 day. There is no way all the documents can be verified in 1 day. Maybe some but not all.

Because he landed in Canada in July. He had PR status before we got married and we were outside Canada. So he couldn't apply for spousal PR then and now SDS would be faster than outland PR application, so applied via SDS. Planning for inland PR application once in Canada!
Yeah dude thats what is my question also, I almost cried getting all these docs. I think there is no need for this many docs. Since he asked I had give them. What to do. Whats done is done. Just wanted to let others know and understand if there is anything we can get out of this.
I read from a facebook group that if you submit too many documents, the VO might confuse it with Non-SDS.
But oh well, as what you said, already submitted, can only wait and see.

Haha...yeah dude. Its hit and miss with these apps. Personally I feel he put too man docs. Lets see where this goes.
My disappointment is that you expect something must be special from a registered consultant. He might have seen these cases before and might be taking precaution. Since I am an older applicant he might have thought lets be extra cautious.
WES evaluation ??? its my own opinion when u applying as a study permit then do not add WES or any evaluation. suppose i am visa officer andi reviewing ur application and when i see evaluation documents. my mind will hit on that this is for permanent residency or for express entry and this student is going for study and his intentions are PR and will not leave canada after study, Its a risky
Thats way too many docs. The whole purpose of SDS is to make the file easier and hence they ask for very specific set of documents. Many people usually say just stick to SDS checklist and their file moves quick. When you add too many files, not only does it look desperate but it becomes their responsibility to individually verify each documents so more time consuming.
No, dont go that far. I agree this document was also not required. But I am not sure if he uploaded this document. But this document just confirms that my BE is legitimate thats all. I agree there are too many documents in my app. I hope he has not used irrelevant docs.
Another week over and still no final decision. While we continue to be under stress, the VO will enjoy their maple dipped donut for the weekend.
