No, just tell your mother to marry your father again, and your mother can sponsor your father then. This will be faster.Hello guys. I am Dilip from hamilton. I received invitation to apply for my mother this friday. I couldn't apply for my father in 2020 because of passport issues. I am not sure how can my father get PR based on my mother PR once she get it . Any clues? Do i need to sponsor my father next year when they open?
Easy way for them to be both refused if they misrepresented their marital status and only got divorced on paper to qualify for immigration. They would need substantial proof that they actually got divorced like division of assets, proof they were leading separate lives for a good amount of time, support arrangements, etc. You are giving very bad advice that could backfire. No, just tell your mother to marry your father again, and your mother can sponsor your father then. Was the requirement for 2 years of being over LICO or 3? Many people didn’t apply in your situation because they don’t qualify so IRCC can’t just change the rules to benefit the people who apply even if they don’t qualify. If so shocking how many people still apply when they know they don’t qualify.Hi Guys,
I live with my wife and have no children. I have received invitation to sponsor my mother (total family size: me, my wife, my mother). My income is as following:
Currently, I'm working. Am I eligible to sponsor my mother or not? 2018 amount is less than MNI but my income is way more than the threshold for the next years. Any idea that I'm eligible or not?
- 2018: $31,000 CAD (I was student at that time and worked for just 3 ending months of 2018)
- 2019: $120,000 CAD
- 2020: $120,000 CAD
Thanks
You might as well apply as accompanying because no matter what he must pass the medical. With his high needs he must be accessing healthcare or will likely need healthcare so during the 1-2+ years that it may take to process your application you will need to consider what you will do if you need further medical care. He wouldn’t qualify for any public nursing homes or other services and due to high demand you may not be able to get services even if you are willing to pay. I would make sure you have a plan B in case they get denied or even if they need further medical care while the application is being processed.Hi
We received an invitation to sponsor my parents. My father has dementia and high needs, and my mother is healthy. I suspect that my father will not be admissible based on his health needs. My mother is currently his main caregiver. questions:
- Can we get him approved on humanitarian basis? (he is currently visiting Canada, They are both US citizens)
- If we apply only for my mother and list him as non accompanying dependent: Does have to have medical exam? If he is bedridden and can not present for an exam will they be denied, or will they do virtual assessment or accept his Doctor's note?. Do we have to show that we will have other arrangements for him (nursing home) at the time of the application (to explain why he is not accompanying), or does that have to happen later in the application process, when they ask for more info?
- Anyone had luck getting humanitarian reason for their parent, or is it very hard?
Hi Preeti. There are couple of Forms, IMM 5406 and IMM 5669 which are online forms (not downloadable in editable PDF Format) on both the forms it is asked to enter details in English as well as Mother-tongue. Are you aware of what needs to be done here or just ignore the Mothertongue part?Hello, if anyone needs help filling out the forms let me know.![]()
At this time we are paying for private help at home, and he is still covered under his American medical insurance ( when he needed surgery we just crossed the border). In reality, if he progresses enough to need nursing home, we will do that in the states. We are thinking mainly about my mother's future: if he goes to nursing home or if he passes. We want her to be here with us with Canadian status. He personally will most likely not benefit from the whole situation; we are just stuck not being able to apply for my mother without his condition negatively affecting her chances of being approved. Thank youHonestly If you fully qualify income wise by yourself, I wouldn't add your wife as a co-signer, remember this an undertaking of 20 years that everyone that signs will be responsible for whether or not their situation in the future changes. Ex: you and your wife split, she still will be responsible for your parents; worst yet you were to pass your wife will be responsible for your parents. Don't get me wrong there is difference between taking responsibility of someone because you want and a total different one to do it because you must legally speaking. Also as far as I am concern there is no benefit in having your spouse co-sign other than to increase the income.
you should get it translated in English.Hello Friends. In my case my wife is the Sponsor (for her parents) and I am the co-sponsor. The list of documents requires uploading the Birth Certificate of the Sponsor. She has her birth certificate handy but it is written in Marathi issued by the Mumbai Municipal corporation. Do i need to get this document translated or can i upload as it is. There are no guidelines that i can find in this regard on the website. Thanks in advance.
