Changing name on OCI card without a change to citizenship certificate

Has anyone gone through name change process on OCI card? Is it necessary to submit original citizenship certificate for name change? I have sent in my citizenship certificate for name change, but IRCC processing times have become 15 months so I'm stuck. I had taken a notarized copy of certificate before sending it into IRCC, so I can submit the notarized copy to BLS if needed. Just wondering if anyone can share their experience of the name change process.

I didn’t try it. Decided to wait for updated certificate
