Send them a webform. Emphasize the point that you have been waiting for long while latter applicants are progressing faster. Ignore their automatic response about Afghans. Your file is very slow for no real reason. I thought maybe the background check is delaying your file, but it's not the case
You know what they will say ? Every applicant case is different and the phone will hang up lol on webform you will never recieve a genuine reply although one should keep trying.

It doesn't matter if they don't respond. It will catch their attention.

It isnt too hard for them to go in order, why cant they process all 2018's first and then go to 2019's and then 2020's. This citizenship is almost similar to winning a lotto max now, i called them yesterday and the lady on the phone kept repeating Afghanistan as the reason and I told her that there has been no activity for almost a year now yet she only replied with respect to Afghanistan, they acting as if they have been asked to move to Afghanistan, the unfortunate part is that it is so hard to predict now, i dont know if i should apply for my PR card renewal or wait for citizenship

I would apply for PR renewal. The processing time has been steadily going up. It went from 90 days 8 weeks ago, to 132 days now. If you get your citizenship before, you can cancel it.

Your views about the election results?
I feel it will be more of the same again.

I'm in the process of fine-tuning my petition, and will post it here soon (but honestly don't see the point of it anymore looking at the results) :-(

We need petition. Clear backlog, stop processing online application until all paper based applications are completed

Dear Mia Donalds:

Thank you for your recent correspondence addressed to the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, concerning the citizenship application process. I have been asked to respond.

Your comments regarding the application process and your suggestions for improving it are appreciated. Family reunification, reducing overall wait times and improving client service are key government priorities. Please be assured that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) makes every effort to manage the applications received in the most efficient and effective way.

With regard to your concerns in particular, IRCC’s Client Feedback service allows clients to submit comments, compliments, and complaints about our services through a single, centralized portal. This includes observations or suggestions on how the department's services, performance, or processes could be improved.

Agents will review the comments and determine if further action is necessary. Should more specific information or a response be required, the client will be contacted by the Department.

Thank you for taking the time to bring this matter to the attention of the Minister.

Sincerely,

Y. Levesque

I would like to point out that the citizenship processing time is clearly visible at IRCC Calgary. Alberta continues to be hit hard by the pandemic; However, that office can learn to manage the workload remotely instead of passively sitting at home and doing little or nothing to move the backlog forward.

The IRCC office in Calgary has been a real headache for many, failing in most areas from processing time to communicating with the organization. I'm not sure if IRCC head office recently had a discussion with the director of the citizenship program at IRCC Calgary to understand their current situation.

What I hope to see is very clear and achievable with good governance: all routine files submitted to CPC-S in 2018 and pending at IRCC Calgary, will receive an invitation under oath by the end of October. All routine files submitted in 2019 and pending at IRCC Calgary, will receive an invitation under oath by the end of November. Then they can process subsequent files.
